Sparkle Fest: A Diwali Celebration

The Pre Primary Wing celebrated a vibrant Diwali on 29th October, 2024. Students decorated diyas with colorful designs and created a stunning rangoli with flowers, showcasing their creativity and cultural appreciation. It was a wonderful day for our little ones to come together and enjoy the joyous spirit of the Festival of Lights!

TWIRL & SWIRL: GARBA FUN

The celebration began with a burst of colour and energy as kids dressed in vibrant garba attire took to the floor, twirling and spinning to the infectious rhythms of traditional garba music.

Following the lively performance, the children engaged in a creative Dussehra craft activity, skillfully crafting Ravan figures from paper cups. This perfect blend of dance and creativity not only showcased their talents but also deepened their understanding of cultural traditions, making for a truly unforgettable day!

STORY SYMPHONY : TALES IN MOTION

In a burst of creativity, the children gathered for the Story Symphony, where each class transformed their room into a lively stage filled with imagination. With colourful props and costumes, they brought their chosen tales to life, captivating their peers with animated performances. Laughter and applause echoed as the young storytellers wove their narratives, showcasing not only their storytelling talents but also their teamwork and enthusiasm.

GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATION

On Gandhi Jayanti, we celebrated the life and beliefs of Mahatma Gandhi, where children learned about Gandhi ji’s principles of non-violence, truth, and peace. This was followed by a creative craft activity that allowed students to express their understanding of Gandhi ji’s legacy through art. It was a meaningful day that inspired the children to embrace the values of one of our greatest leaders.

NANHE KALAKAR: ART JAM

"Nanhe Kalakar" was an exciting celebration of our young artists' creative flair! The event showcased the artistic talents of the tiny tots as they brought their imagination to life through drawing. With topics thoughtfully provided by their teachers, our young artists were able to express their unique perspectives and showcase their skills. It was a truly wonderful opportunity to appreciate the creativity, imagination, and talent of our children.

NINJA NEWCOMERS

The Ninja Newcomers event was a vibrant fusion of knowledge and strategy, where students engaged in fun-filled games that brought subjects to life. Through interactive challenges in Maths, EVS and language, participants enhanced their critical thinking and teamwork skills. The atmosphere buzzed with enthusiasm as students collaborated, celebrated successes, and enjoyed learning in an exciting and memorable way.

NINJA NEWCOMERS

The "Ninja Newcomers" event for our Pre-Schoolers was a dynamic and engaging adventure aimed at fostering lifelong habits of health and well-being. The day began with a spirited aerobics session, where the children danced to lively music with enthusiasm. This was followed by a peaceful yoga practice, during which the young learners showcased impressive focus and flexibility as they connected their minds and bodies through child-friendly poses. The event also featured organized games that emphasized teamwork, coordination, and problem-solving, allowing the children to demonstrate their skills and determination while learning the value of collaboration.

Swachhta Pakhwada: Small Actions.... Big Impact!

The Pre Primary Wing observed Swachhta Pakhwada, a week-long initiative promoting cleanliness and hygiene. Students and teachers actively participated in various activities, including awareness campaigns, cleanliness drives, and poem recitation on sustainable practices. The day began with a pledge to uphold cleanliness, instilling a sense of responsibility among the school community. This successful event emphasized the importance of a clean environment and encouraged students to become advocates for hygiene and sustainability in their daily lives.

CHALK CHEERS A DAY TO CELEBRATE OUR TEACHERS

On the occasion of Teachers' Day, our children paid a heartfelt tribute to their favourite teachers. Dressed in their teachers' attire, they shared touching sentiments about why they admire them. With innocence and sincerity, they highlighted the special qualities and memorable moments they've shared with their teachers, making the appreciation even more personal.

To commemorate the day, our young artists created a collaborative handprint masterpiece, with each child adding their colourful handprint to form a unified and vibrant piece of art. This activity celebrated the collective spirit of gratitude.

DPS Super Chef Event a Recipe for Success!

The Pre-Primary Wing recently hosted the ' *DPS SUPER CHEF* ' event, where our young chefs-in-training participated in a fun and interactive fireless cooking activity. The children had a great time preparing simple, no-cook recipes like biscuit canapés and sandwiches in no time!

Under the guidance of their teachers, the children showcased their creativity, teamwork, and budding cooking skills, producing a vibrant array of colorful dishes that wowed everyone. The event was a resounding success, offering the perfect blend of fun and learning in a safe environment.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

The Pre-Primary Wing celebrated Independence Day with a lively and interactive event that combined education and creativity. The children learned about the importance of Independence Day, explored our cultural heritage, participated in creative activities and cultivated a sense of pride and connection to their country.

JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION

The Janmashtami celebration in the Pre-Primary Wing was a delightful event. Children participated enthusiastically in a mukut (crown) decoration activity and dressed up as Radha and Krishna. The children enjoyed creating colorful and intricate crowns, which added a festive touch to the celebration. Their costumes and decorations brought the spirit of the festival to life, making it a memorable occasion for everyone.

On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 08:30 am a fire drill activity was organized for our pre-primary wing children as part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the safety and preparedness of our students in emergencies. The activity aimed to educate young children about fire safety, emergency evacuation procedures, and the importance of remaining calm during such incidents.

A Power Point Presentation was created to introduce the concept of fire safety to the children. This included simple explanations of what fire is, how it can occur, and the importance of adhering to safety protocols.

The fire drill commenced at 08:30 am marked by the sound of the fire alarm. Teachers guided students in an orderly manner to the designated assembly area (bus yard) outside the building. Students were encouraged to walk calmly and quickly while ensuring they did not push or panic. Once gathered at the assembly point, a short debriefing was held where the significance of the drill was explained, and students shared their experiences. Questions were encouraged to reinforce their understanding and alleviate any fears about fire emergencies.

The fire drill activity was a successful endeavor in educating our students about fire safety and evacuation procedures. Continuous training and education on safety will ensure that our children are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to respond effectively in case of an emergency.

DPS Mathura Road Launches General Knowledge Program to Foster Future Quiz Masters

DPS Mathura Road held the first module of a General Knowledge program on 5 November 2024 for 62 students from classes 4 and 5, aimed at grooming future Quiz Masters. Mr. Arindham Bhattacharya from Cradle Solutions outlined essential knowledge areas and engaged students with interactive questions. He encouraged them to stay curious and build a habit of regular learning, laying a foundation for success in upcoming quiz competitions. This session was the first in a series of more modules which will culminate in an Inter-House GK Quiz.

Earthquake Drill Conducted at DPS Mathura Road to Enhance Emergency Preparedness

On 12.11.24 at 9:05 am ,the Primary School of Delhi Public School Mathura Road conducted an earthquake drill to ensure that students and staff were prepared for an earthquake emergency. The drill lasted 5 min and involved 1275 participants. Upon hearing the siren, students and staff promptly followed the "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" procedure. The drill highlighted strengths in evacuation procedures and communication among staff and students.

DPS Mathura Road Hosts Inter House Spelling Bee to Enhance Vocabulary and Confidence

Inter House Spelling Bee Competition was organized for the students of the Junior School of DPS , Mathura Road on 12.11.24. Twenty students from grade IV , selected on the basis of their exceptional vocabulary, participated in the competition.Advik Singh and Kabir Sinha of the Jhelum house emerged as the winners.The competition aimed to promote language skills, vocabulary, and confidence among students. The competition featured words ranging from basic to challenging, covering various themes and subjects. Students demonstrated exceptional spelling skills, poise, and sportsmanship.

Class I-B Mothers and Students Join for Energetic Aerobics Session at DPS Mathura Road

As part of the ongoing Parent-Teacher Collaboration Activities for Class I, the mothers of students from Class I-B enthusiastically participated in an Aerobics/Zumba session with the children on 5 November, 2024. This lively and engaging activity aimed to emphasize the importance of physical exercise in our daily lives. The joint workout session not only highlighted the value of staying active but also fostered a joyful bond between the parents and students, creating lasting memories. Such initiatives reflect the school’s commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle while strengthening the school community through shared experiences.

Show and Tell Activity Enhances Communication and Creativity in Classes II and III

The Show and Tell activity was conducted for classes II and III as a part of Inter House Activity in the Junior School on 6.11.24. Students were asked to bring an object of personal significance or interest and speak about it.The Show and Tell activity successfully promoted communication skills, creativity, and teamwork. It provided a platform for students to express themselves, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity.This activity helped in enhancing creativity and self-expression among the young learners.

Fairy Tale Ramp Walk by Class I-C Celebrates Family Bonding and Creativity

On November 6, 2024, Class I- C students and their mothers charmed the audience with a fairy tale-themed ramp walk. Thirteen mother-child pairs brought beloved characters to life, showcasing creative costumes and lively performances. The event celebrated imagination, family bonding, and parent-teacher collaboration, creating memorable moments for all.

The Unity Run, was organised for classes I to V of DPS, Mathura Road on 28.10.24 and 29.10.24.The run was a resounding success in promoting national unity and integrity. The event, commemorating Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary, witnessed enthusiastic participation of the students.

The Unity Run achieved its objectives by fostering unity and camaraderie among participants, encouraging community engagement, and promoting physical fitness and healthy lifestyles.

Guru Nanak Jayanti is a significant day celebrated in to commemorate the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism.To celebrate the pious day,an assembly was conducted for the students of the Junior School.A skit on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, highlighting his message of unity, equality, and service to humanity was held followed by a cultural dance.The assembly concluded with a reflection on Guru Nanak's teachings and their relevance in today's world.

The ATL Marathon 2023-24 conducted by NITI Aayog, GOI. Two teams from our school have been selected among the top 500 teams of the country. As per CBSE Circular No. Acad - 55/2024, Shiksha Saptah - Education week, 'Cultural Day' was celebrated as an endeavour to commemorate four years of the launch of NEP 2020 at the Junior School ,DPS Mathura Road. The students displayed a cultural program depicting the essence of' 'Unity in Diversity' of our country.

'SHIKSHA SAPTAH' - EDUCATION WEEK was celebrated in the Junior School at Dps matgura Road from 22.7.24 and 23.7.24

Classes-I to V: Teaching Learning Material (TLM) day was celebrated with great zeal utilizing cost effective and user friendly teaching learning aids available in the school. Demonstration and illustrations were used for transacting various concepts in different subjects like English, Hindi, Math and EVS. Use of play-based toy pedagogy was done to make difficult concepts easy for the learner. School building itself was used as learning aid such as shapes of the window panes and doors.Mask making, card making, thumb painting, hand painting are a regular part of the art curriculum making the learning environment rich and conducive for all students and teachers.

As a part of Shiksha Saptah Celebration Day 2 was dedicated to Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Day (FLN) recognizing the importance of FLN in the early years of education. To enhance the ability of children to read with comprehension and to perform basic mathematical operations by the end of grade 2, a print rich game based learning environment has been created in school. Activities such as story-telling, using cards and puppets were done. “Puppetry and Masks” are significant tool for transacting concepts given in “Jadui Pitara ”. As story telling with puppets imbibes elements of all art forms , enabled students to enhance their creative and imaginative abilities.

International Day of Friendship

International Day of Friendship was celebrated in the Junior School at DPS, Mathura Road.

The International Day of Friendship was proclaimed in 2011 by the UN General Assembly with the idea that friendship between people, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.

Students got an opportunity to reflect on the importance of friendship and its positive impact on their personal growth and emotional well being. Students made a friendship card and wrote a short message for their friend in it. Students made friendship bands using recycled paper and made sentences using any 5 idioms on friendship in their activity notebook.

World Nature Conservation Day was observed by the students of classes I to V of the Junior School.This day is observed on 28 July, every year. A team of green warriors was created under the leadership of Environment Club in-charge. These warriors visited all the classes and spoke relevant topics. They all took a pledge to conserve nature.

World Youth Skills Day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm by the students of DPS Mathura Road, Junior Schiol.This day is dedicated to celebrate the strategic importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work and entrepreneurship. Students of classes Classes I to III attempted an online quiz on various professions. They also dressed up as their favourite professional and spoke a few lines on about him/her.

Students of classes IV and V drew and wrote a slogan about their favourite profession in their activity notebook.

Paper Bag Day was observed from 08.07.24 – 12.07.24 across all the grades of the Junior School.

Students of classes I to V were shown videos explaining the harmful effects of plastic. Students made simple newspaper bag which is a biodegradable environment friendly alternative to plastic bags.

Students of classes IV and V also researched and wrote a few points about the benefits of recycling paper.

Doctor’s Day was observed on the 1st of July to mark the importance of doctors in our lives as this day is meant to commemorate the medical industry and its advancements.

Students across all the grades from I to V used their creativity to make a card as a token of gratitude for their family doctor/any doctor known to them.

Students of classes IV and V researched about the various branches/specialisations in the field of medicine and gave a verbal presentation on any one of them in class.

The glimpses of first day of Parent Teacher Collaborative Activities (Class I) where grandparents of Shaarvi Wadhwa IA and Geetisha IB beautifully narrated the stories in their respective classrooms.All the other students thoroughly enjoyed the story and felt connected to grandparents of their classmates.

Excursion to Agra and Fatehpur Sikri: A Memorable Learning Experience

The excursion to Agra and Fatehpur Sikri, which took place from December 7 to December 8, 2024, was a memorable and exciting experience for the students of classes 6 to 8. A total of 110 students- 41 girls and 69 boys - along with 8 teachers, embarked on this enriching journey to explore India's historic monuments.

From the very beginning, excitement filled the air as the students set out, eager to discover the rich history and culture of the region. On the first day, the group visited the iconic Taj Mahal, where they were in awe of the intricate hand-carvings on the white marble. They also explored the imposing Agra Fort, marveling at the majestic red sandstone architecture.

The evening was filled with fun as the students enjoyed a lively DJ session, dancing and making the most of their time together.

On the second day, the group visited Fatehpur Sikri, where they learned about the fascinating history of the Mughal emperors and explored the impressive archaeological sites.

The students were accommodated in a comfortable hotel, which provided a variety of multi-cuisine meals, ensuring a pleasant stay.

The trip was both educational and enjoyable, offering the students an opportunity to learn about India's heritage while creating lasting memories.

The Delhi Public School Mathura Road, marked a momentous occasion on Monday 7th October 2024, as the school's Economics and Consumer Club organized its24th Annual Inter-School Economics Fest - ECONFLUENCE 2024.

DPS Mathura Road Hosts Robotics and Drone Workshop with Vigyantram

DPS Mathura Road organised a two day workshop in association with Vigyantram for 5 in 1 Robotics and Drone Making and Flying on 4th and 5th October, 2024. About 50 students participated with complete zeal.

The selected teams will proceed to participate in the event-Enactus at IIT, Delhi.

Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, held its Investiture Ceremony on October 9, 2024, appointing 135 Class XI and XII students as leaders of 30 clubs. The event featured ceremonial lighting of lamp, music, and dance performances.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Praneet Chandra. Shri Chandra has rendered more than 22 years of service to the CISF and is presently holding the rank of DIG Tech. at CISF Headquarters. He encouraged students to be confident, hardworking and pursue their passions.

Excursion to Jim Corbett National Park from October 10,2024 to October 12,2024.

Over 300 students of Classes IX and XI had an enjoyable and enriching 3-day trip to Jim Corbett National Park, filled with exciting experiences, team-building activities, and lasting memories.

The students and parents extended their heartfelt gratitude to the Honourable Principal for initiating this enriching experience.

This outing aimed to foster teamwork and environmental awareness among participants.

DPS Mathura Road Hosts 'Lakshya' Career Fair with Participation from Over 60 National and International Universities

Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, hosted a grand two-day career fair titled ‘Lakshya’ for its students and parents. The event saw participation from over 60 universities, with 76 representatives in attendance. More than 40 were from international institutions, while over 30 represented esteemed national universities.

The chief guest, Shri. Rahul Sharma, Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India, lauded the rich legacy of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, which is celebrating 75 glorious years.

Renowned career expert Shri Jitin Chawla, who was the special guest for the occasion, inspired students with his insights on achieving success. Mr Jitin Chawla also interacted with class X students to guide them for selection of subjects and streams.

The DPS Society College Access Program Team actively contributed to organizing this grand career fair.

AN EXCURSION TO JIM CORBETT, UTTRAKHAND

“Wilderness is the necessity of spirit and nature, our real home.” With this maxim as the propelling essence, 299 students and 19 teachers from Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, New Delhi commenced on a journey to Jim Corbett for two nights and three days, on 10 October, 2024. A total of seven buses were deployed for the entire trip. The resorts allocated for the sojourn of the students and teachers were amidst the lush greenery of Jim Corbett, namely, Grand Resort, Green Retreat, and Mallard Resort.

The first day of the expedition marked the group’s visit to the Corbett Museum and Garjia Temple. On the second day, after an evening of respite, the students went for a Jeep Safari and traversed the Jim Corbett National Park early in the morning. It was at this time that the students rejoiced the most in the lap of nature and wildlife, whilst spotting a few animals as well.

They learnt about wild life and the different zones of forest through the forest guide jn the safari.The afternoon was followed by a visit to the Corbett House, whereby the students learnt about the historical background of Jim Corbett. The students had a joyous DJ evening.On 12 October, 2024, after an indelibly unforgettable experience, the group of students and teachers headed back to the school. Through out the excursion, the students enjoyed delicious meals , shared time with their peers , made new bonds and learnt the art of self-management.The journey left a strikingly unforgettable mark on the resplendent young minds, steering them to be equipped with umpteen memories and learnings for life.
