We at DPS Mathura Road aim to provide a positive learning environment and believe that children have real understanding only if they invent themselves. Our esteemed Principal, Ms Deeksha Khera inaugurated the floor activities created for the children.
A group of children began the programme with a melodious prayer sung to perfection. A group of children also demonstrated how these activities can be used as learning tools, highlighting the fact that a single activity can be customized to a person’s learning outcome needs and can be used in multiple ways.
This exercise was carried out with an aim of using the building as a learning aid or ‘BALA’ as it is popularly known. It is about developing school spaces — the classrooms, the floors, walls, doors, windows, pillars, corridors, the outdoor spaces — as learning inclusive settings and child friendly learning environments in school. It will strengthen language, communication, numeracy skills, reinforce observation skills by involving multiple senses in the learning process, facilitate understanding of abstract notions through concrete examples available from the school environment and in return develop in children a respect for nature and the environment.
