Maths Fest At DPS Gautam Budh Nagar-23.12.23

The Students from Classes I to V participated in a Math Fest (annual fiesta of Mathematics based competitions) organized by DPS, Gautam Budh Nagar, Geometric Fusion Fiesta. Veer Srivastava from Class I bagged the second prize and Mohammed Hamdan Khan from Class II bagged the First prize. They created landscapes using shapes and patterns. Aiza Fatima from Class V bagged the second prize in the Madhubani and Mandala Art.


Talent Trove- DPS International-Saket

The students of Pre-Primary and Primary wing participated in the Interschool competition held at DPS International-Saket on 7th December’23.Students took part in various events like Curiosity Quest, Fairytale Rebooted, Nukkad Natak, Save the Sync, News Bite, Number Ninja, Emorve and Art competition organized by the host school where they showcased their extra-ordinary talent and were rewarded for their performances- 3rd position in ‘Fairytale Rebooted’ and 2nd position in ‘News Bite’.


Report Of Meraki Oorja

An Inter School Athletic Meet was held at DPS Vasant Kunj on 12.12.2023 on the theme “Diversity”. Students across classes II to VIII participated in different events such as ‘Sort the Stars race’, ‘Standing Broad Jump’, ‘Pack the Bag and Walk’, ‘Backward race’, ‘Flat race’ and ‘Hurdle race’. The results were as follows: Zikra of Class II secured first position in ‘Sort the Stars race’, Ivana Saxena of Class III secured first position in ‘Pack the Bag’ and Pramod Kumar of Class VIII secured third position in ‘Hurdle race’.


Hindi Interschool Debate Competition 29.11.23

Delhi Public School, Mathura Road organised the IInd Shubh Chadha Memorial Inter-School Hindi Debate for the students of Classes IV and V on 29 November 2023. The motion before the house was - - जीवन का आनन्द अपनी आवश्यकताओं को सीमित रखने में है. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 12 distinguished schools.

The event saw an assemblage of eminent judges such as Ms. Mamta Singh, an author and Chairperson, Social and Motivational Trust (registered voluntary organization) and Dr. Savita Chadha, a renowned author and Bharat Ratna awardee. The Chairperson for the debate was Ms. Veena Trivedi, HOD- Hindi and Sanskrit, DPS Mathura Road. Mr. B.R Chadha, husband of Late. Ms. Shubh Chadha, along with his son Mr. Rahul Chadha graced the occasion with their presence.

The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by a presentation on the topic for the debate. After the presentation, Vice Principal (Administration), Mr. Naveen Kumar and Headmistress, Ms. Manisha Varma, felicitated the dignitaries. In his address, Mr. Naveen Kumar, underscored the importance of embracing simplicity, while also acknowledging the value of pursuing continuous growth, fostering personal development.

Throughout the discourse, the participants advocated embracing diverse experiences and ambitions to enrich life's fabric, nurturing personal growth. Discussions revolved around concerns of excessive indulgence, emphasizing the benefits of a restrained, necessity-focused lifestyle.

The panel of judges, Ms. Mamta Singh and Dr. Savita Chadha, expounded their observations to the assembled audience, commending the eloquence and acumen demonstrated by the speakers.

The results were declared shortly thereafter. The first position was bagged by Pankhuri Gupta from Delhi Public School, Mathura Road. Katyayani Mishra from The Indian School (second shift) secured the second position. The third position was bagged by Gaurika Singh from Delhi Public School, Knowledge Park. Divyam Aggarwal from Delhi Public School, Noida Sector-30, was presented with the award for the Best Orator. The rolling trophy was awarded to Delhi Public School, Mathura Road in recognition of their outstanding performance.

The Academic Coordinator, Ms. Snehlata Kaushik rendered the vote of thanks. The event concluded with the rendition of the national anthem.


1st Manav Sthali Painting Competition Report

Manav Sthali School New Delhi organised its 1st Inter School Painting Competition Manav Kalakriti’23 on 20th April, 2023.

Three students from the Primary Wing participated in Category 1:

Anaaya Rungta III- D, Vinayak Dalal IV-H, Mysha Shah V-F

Anaaya Rungta made the school proud and bagged the Rising Star Position All participants were given participation certificates.


8th Delhi State Cubing Championship

On April 29, 2023, the junior school boys' team participated in the 8th Delhi State Cubing Championship held at Prometheus School, Noida. The students achieved great success, earning multiple medals and a trophy.

Fourth and fifth-grade students showed great enthusiasm in the tournament and gained knowledge on solving cube puzzles. Every participant was awarded a certificate of participation.


KANWAR ASHISH CRICKET TOURNAMENT (U-7)

Junior School’s cricket team took part in the 23rd edition of Kanwar Ashish Annual Cricket Tournament (Under-7) held at DPS RK Puram Sports Complex from 11th to 22nd September 2023. The team was able to advance till the Quarter Finals and played a total of four matches wherein they emerged victorious.

  • 14th September ‘23: The school secured a win against DPS Noida wherein Aadya Verma of 2G bagged the Player of the Match award.

  • 16th September ‘23: Our school team won against DPS Knowledge Park, Noida, and Mustafa Qureshi of 2E was declared the Player of the Match

Chess Championship

The little grandmasters of Junior School, Delhi Public School, Mathura Road participated in the Smt. Mohini Virendra Singh Inter-School Chess Tournament 2019-20 held at Modern School, Vasant Vihar on 17th and 18th January, 2020. They were escorted by Ms. Mukesh Mahal. The children participated with complete focus and enthusiasm. The participants had been trained by the chess instructor-Mr. Jitender.

Tisha Bajaj (Class 4-C) wins laurels at 1st Darshan Shooting Sports Academy Open Championship and Cup of Champions

Tisha Bajaj (Class 4-C) participated in the 1st DARSHAN SHOOTING SPORTS ACADEMY OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP held on 30th Nov & 1st Dec'19 at Ashok Vihar, Delhi. The tournament had shooters from Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh participating in the various categories.

In this competition, Tisha won 4 medals, 2 gold and 2 silver medals across rifle and pistol events. Not only medals but she also won a cash award in Cup of Champions (CoC) held on 8th Dec'19.

She shot her personal best score of 377/400 in the pistol event using a Morini Titanium Pistol. In the rifle event as well, she shot her personal best of 379/400 using a Walther LG 400 rifle. For both the events she used R10 match pellets.

Tisha was the only participant who won four medals and the CoC.


19th Swarang Inter SchoolArt Competition

Swarang Inter School Art Competition was organized by Presentation Convent School on 1st October 2019. The theme for the competition was “Gandhi Jike Teen Adarsh” for the Junior category.

Arisha Khan Nizami of V-A bagged the Second prize and Avinash Kumar Rana of V-C won the third prize.

The Runners up Rolling Trophy was won by our school.

Tisha Bajaj of class 4-C wins gold medal in rifle and a silver medal in pistol shooting

Tisha participated in the 4th SOUTH DELHI DISTRICT OPEN SHOOTING COMPETITION - 2019 held from 28-29 September 2019 at Sri Fort. This is the fourth tournament organized by the SDDRA since 2016 and had more than 160+ participants with children from across Delhi/NCR participating.

In this competition, Tisha participated in both the 10m Rifle shooting and 10m Pistol shooting events.

She shot a score of 378/400 in the Rifle event and won the gold medal. She used the Feinwerkbau rifle for the event.

This was not all… in the pistol event, she also shot a score of 368/400 and won the silver medal. She used a Morini Titanium Pistol for this.

For both the events she used R10 match pellets.

Tisha was one of the few participants who won two medals (gold and a silver), at the tournament making everyone proud.


Talent Scout Competition

Inter-school competition (Talent Scout) held at Hope Hall Foundation School, R.K Puram.

Vaanya Aggarwal of IV-A, Amber Khera of V-A and Alvira Mariam of IV-E participated in English poem recitation competition.

Aishani Rakshit of IV-H, Somya Nahata of IV-C and Mahira Mediratta of IV-E participated in Mask making competition.

They were accompanied by Ms. Rashmeet Kaur. While many schools participated in the competitions the students of DPS Mathura road preformed distinctively well.

Aishani Rakshit of IV-H won the second prize for her mask. A picture of prize winning mask is attached below.

It was an enriching experience for the team as they got to experience abundant talent and zeal around.


Story- Telling Workshop and Book Release

Ten of our talented students from classes III and IV participated in the Story- Telling Workshop and Book Release held at INTACH, Lodhi Estate along with their teacher Ms.Enakshi Arora. There were a total of 10 schools from all over Delhi who participated in this workshop. The session was conducted by well- known Bal Sahitya Puraskar winner – Ms.Paro Anand.The stories that were shared unveiled cultural experiences and visits to various heritage sites, offering interesting information on built, living, cultural, and natural heritage associated with each state. The appropriate use of voice modulation and body language by Ms.Paro Anand introduced children to new horizons of storytelling.

During the session students were asked to write their own poem in a rap or rhyme about Delhi, Mumbai or Kolkata in which Vivaan Lal of class III-D was declared as the one with the most original and inspiring composition. He was awarded with all the three volumes released on that day.

Overall it was an interactive session where children were taught the right way of telling the stories and gave platform to students to enhance their skills and build confidence.


Inter-School Hindi Poem Recitation Competition

An interschool Hindi Poem Recitation was organised by Hopehall Foundation School, R.K. Puram, Sec-7 as a part of their ‘Talent Search’ Fiesta on 8th August’19. Eight prestigious schools participated in this category with 3 participants from each school. Participants had to speak a hindi poem for not more than 2 minutes on patriotic theme. Following children of our school were prepared for the same event :

All the three children spoke very well and were appreciated for their choice of poems, expressions, confidence, memorisation and use of props.

Avani Mishra stole the show by bagging the 1st prize among the 24 participants and also was praised by one and all.


Brem Dutt Memorial Inter School Competition
23rd August, 2019

With the view to promote the dance skills CAMBRIDGE FOUNDATION SCHOOL Rajouri garden organised a INTER SCHOOL DANCE COMPETITION for the students of class -5 and THE FANTASY PLANET for the students of class 3 . From class 3D Vivaan Lal and Saina sachdeva participated in the event.The theme of the dance was RISHTA -INTENSITY OF RELATIONSHIP, where VIVIAN RAJAHUMSAN from class 5-B and BHAVNA SINGH from class 5-C participated in this event and shown the relation between Earth and human. They were accompanied by Ms.MONIKA NEGI .There were 40 teams from the different schools participated in the event and we won 2nd position in the competition, which is a matter of pride to us. They received a certificate each and a trophy. It was a great experience to all of them.


Taps Fest 2019 , Army Public School, Dhaulakuan
22nd August, 2019

On 22nd August AishaniRakshit of IV-H, C. Ayesha of V-D, PrakhyatPrateek of V-C, AnishGoyal Of V-C, Ruhbani Bhatia of V-E and ManikBhalla of V-A participated in “Taps Fest 2019” held at Army public School,DhaulaKuan . They were accompanied by Ms.PoonamBhardwaj. 43 schools participated in the Warliomache contest. C. Ayesha andAishaniRakshit won 2nd position in the competition which is a matter of pride for us all. They received a certificate each and a trophy. It was a great learning experience for all the participating children.


Tisha Bajaj of IV C wins Gold at Purnatva Open Shooting Championship

Tisha participated in the Purnatva Open Shooting Championship held from 9th to 11th August at Sri Fort. This is the second tournament organized by Purnatva academy.

Tisha shot a score of 191/200 in Rifle shooting and won the gold medal. She used the Feinwerkbau rifle for the event.

Tisha’s final score was better by almost ten points compared to the second runner-up.


Rifle Shooting Competition Won by Tisha Bajaj of IV-C

Tisha Bajaj (4-C), a student of the Primary Wing of DPS Mathura road kept herself busy during summer vacation participating in 4 shooting competitions.

In the month of June and early July 2019, she won 8 medals including 5 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal.

16th June - Tisha first played the Netaji Subhash Ch. Bose Memorial Shooting Competition held from 12th to 16th June. She won a Gold for Air Rifle and a Silver in the Team Air Pistol event.

17th June - Tisha then participated in the Smt. Pushpa Rani Gupta Memorial Open held from 15th to 17th June. She won a gold in Air Rifle, a Silver in Air Pistol and a gold in Air Pistol Team event.

30th June - Tisha participated in the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Shooting Tournament from 29th to 30th June. She won a gold in the Air Rifle event and a bronze in the Air Pistol event. Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi was the chief guest and awarded the medals to Tisha.

4th July - Tisha participated in the second DDA Inter School Shooting Championship and won gold in the Air Rifle event. She scored her personal best of 194 / 200 and was one of the best scores of the competition.


International Karate Championship

Vivaan Moda (Class II-E) represented India in "International Karate Championship" on 6-7 July 2019, held in Punjab-India, alongside more than 500 participants representing several countries across the world.

Vivaan won Gold Medal in the International Championship, after defeating peers across multiple rounds, and was declared International World Champions in Karate.

This is the second time Vivaan has won International Gold Medal in Karate for India, earlier being in Dec 2017


Solo Classical Dance

Vivian Rajahamsa , Class-V won the first prize in the SOLO CLASSICAL DANCE in the Inter- School Performing Arts Festival ‘SPLENDOUR’ held at DPS Vasant Kunj on 3rd May 2019.


Investiture Ceremony for Class V (2018-19)

The eagerly awaited “Investiture Ceremony” for the academic session 2018-2019 was held on Friday, 13th July 2018.The lighting of the lamp was an auspicious start to this significant morning. The Headmistress Mrs Anju Sharma welcomed the gathering- the Principal Mr. Manohar Lal, Vice Principals –Mrs. Deeksha Khera & Mrs. Asha Tuli, members of the staff, PTA reps and the proud parents. A floral welcome was then extended to our Principal and the Vice Principals.

The Principal, Mr Manohar Lal, in his address, congratulated the appointees and called them ‘visionaries of tomorrow’. He emphasized on the importance of discipline and dignity of the individual and the school.

The Appointees were adorned with sashes and badges by the Principal along with our distinguished guests. Leading the line were the Head Boy and Head Girl .The leaders were solemnized by the oath where they pledged to serve the school and fulfill their responsibilities to the best of their abilities.

The new Head Boy and Head Girl promised a definite change for the better tomorrow with great conviction in their speeches followed by the School Song.


Inter- School Participation

Two students Manik Bhalla and Pragyan Tawakley of class III G participated in the Inter-school Literary and Performing Arts Festival ‘Harmony’ and secured the First Prize in the Spell Bee Competition held at DPS Vasant Kunj

Our school participated in the Folk Dance Junior competition held at the Harmony and Eco-Festival, organized by the Perfect Health Mela,Talkatora Stadium and won the consolation prize. The proud winners!

On 11th October, a total of five students along with their teacher Ms. Syed Rafath Parveen went to Raghubir Singh Junior Modern School to participate in the Sixteenth English Language Meet.

There were a total of 24 schools from all over Delhi who participated in this competition. Our debaters performed very well and managed to win the 4th Position and were given a certificate of “Good Effort”. Ayan Masood made us immensely proud and was declared the “Best Debater”

Delhi Public School, Mathura Road held the XXXVIII Inter school English Debate for Juniors on December 3rd ,2018. As many as 20 participants from 10 schools participated.

A floral welcome was then extended to our judges, Ms Shalini Shah & Ms Jyoti Gupta and Chairperson Ms Kunjan Kacker.

The judges congratulated the winners for their laudable achievement.

Lila Mukherjee (DPS International, Saket) ,Aashi Mittal (DPS Mathura Road) and Pratham Agarwal (DPS Noida) were the best speakers of the day. Ruhbani (DPS Mathura Road) was adjudged the promising speaker

The host school added yet another feather in their illustrious cap with two budding students making everyone proud as they held aloft a glittering rolling trophy relishing this glorious moment!

The 24th Ramjas Basketball Tournament (Girls) was organized at Ramjas School, R.K Puram from 1st November 2018 To 4th December 2018, wherein 12 Primary girls(Under-10) from classes 4th and 5th played and won the winner’s trophy and Rolling trophy.

One of our team member Hiral from 5th-G, was also awarded the “Most Valuable Player” of the tournament

The Kunwar Ashish Under-seven Cricket tournament -an inter-dps event was held on September 20, 2018 and our tiny cricketers got the Runners Up trophy.

ALIKA LAL (V-E) and ANCHITA LAL (V-H) obtained their Brown Belt Stripe I with distinction. They have secured First and Second rank in their batch respectively.

ANAHITA KATHURIA (III G) is an accomplished Black belt karate champion. She won a silver medal in the recently held NCR Karate Cup 2018

RYAN VERMA (3A) and SYON VERMA (2E) Participated in 3rd INDIAN SCHOOL GYMNASTICS LEAGUE – 2018. Syon was awarded the Best Gymnast Trophy. He also received a Gold Medal and Bronze Medal

Tisha Bajaj (3-C), a student of the Primary Wing of DPS Mathura road is an avid shooter and has brought glory to the school.

Tisha bajaj won a “GOLD” medal in the “UNDER 12- AIR RIFLE WOMEN” in the DDA INTER SCHOOL SHOOTING CHAMPIONSHIP-2018 which was held from 16th-18th October 2018 at Sri Fort Sports Complex, New Delhi.
