2nd Inter School Hindi Debate For Juniors 2019-20

DPS Mathura Road hosted the 2th Inter-School Hindi Debate on the topic “Plastic Jeevan Ka Aadhar Hai” on 27th January, 2020.

The eminent educators Ms Sashi Sardana, Former Professor Ramjas College and Dr. Sangeeta Verma, Assistant Professor Kamala Nehru College (University of Delhi) were the judges for the day.

After lighting the ceremonial lamp the Headmistress Ms. Ranjana Dean welcomed the guests and young participants of classes IV and V.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Principal Mr. Naveen Kumar praised all the participants for their hard work and declared the debate open.

The event saw an overwhelming participation of 13 prominent schools from across the city. The debaters came up with their perspective regarding the topic and cited reasons and supported them with suitable examples from real life, to justify their stand. The battle of words was indeed a treat for the ears.

The judges highly appreciated the efforts of the participants and proudly mentioned that the day has made them witness the “Bal Shakti” Principal Ms Deeksha Khera congratulated the winners for their laudable achievement.

The “Chal Vaijayanti” was bagged by Sharanya Vashney and Aishani Purohit of Sanskriti School. Shreeparna Biswas of DPS Dwarka (1st Position), Mannat Khanna of Lotus Valley School, Noida (2nd Position) and Binal A. Chilwal Air Force Bal Bharati Public School, Lodhi Road (3rd Position) were adjudged Best Speakers. Amisha Srivastava, DPS Mathura Road and Saanvi Sharma, DPS Vasant Kunj won the consolation prize.


Students Throng Computer Exhibition

DPS Mathura Road, Primary Wing organised a “Cyber Matrix Exhibition” to showcase the interesting information technology based systems and applications developed by the students from classes I to V.

The exhibition was inaugurated by The Principal, Ms Deeksha Khera in the presence of Vice Principal Ms Reema Sharma, Headmistress, Ms Ranjana Dean, Senior Mistress, Ms Renu Puri along with other dignitaries.

The highlights of the exhibition were the demonstrations and explanations given by the students on innovative working and still models, and projects based on online games, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Database Systems, Computer Manners and Google Glass.

The confidence of the students , the way they conducted themselves , the way they exhibited their skills left everyone elated and proud.

The Principal Ms. Deeksha Khera lauded the computer department for its efforts in bringing out the hidden talents of students in the form of digital and creative learning.


Investiture Ceremony 2019-20

DPS Mathura Road, Primary Wing held the Investiture Ceremony for the session 2019-2020 on Friday, 12th July 2019. A total of 40 young leaders were formally designated with various portfolios to take charge of the school discipline.

A spirit of unity and dynamism filled the air as the Grand Ceremony commenced with the Lighting of the auspicious lamp followed by the soulful rendition of the School choir.

The Headmistress, Ms. Ranjana Dean welcomed the Chief Guest Ms. Madhu Suri, Director Academics, SHRI RAM Education Trust, Principal Ms. Deeksha Khera, Vice- Principal Ms. Reema Sharma, Senior Mistress Ms.Renu Puri, members of the PTA body, the proud parents, staff members and the students. The distinguished guests were welcomed with potted plant.

The Principal, Ms. Deeksha Khera, in her address congratulated all the school appointees and stated that Investiture Ceremony is the first step we take in imparting leadership skills on the “youngest administrators” of our institution. She further added that as leaders of tomorrow, they must not only maintain high standards, but also be proactive in raising the bar in order to achieve excellence in all spheres. She wished them the very best in their endeavours in school and in life and ended with a quote “Leadership is practiced not so much in words as in attitude and in actions”.

In her address, the Chief Guest Ms. Madhu Suri congratulated the proud recipients and encouraged the students to fly high. She also appreciated the efforts put in by the school for providing opportunities to the students to take part in various activities leading to this achievement.

The Appointees were adorned with sashes and badges by the Chief Guest along with our distinguished guests. Leading the line were the Head Boy and Head Girl .The leaders were solemnized by the oath where they pledged to serve the school and fulfil their responsibilities to the best of their abilities.

The new Head Boy Pragyan Tawakley and Head Girl Ruhbani Bhatia expressed their gratitude to the school for reposing faith in them and bestowing them with responsibilities. They assured to uphold the great legacy of the school and pledged to keep the DPS banner aloft.

It was indeed a proud moment for everyone to see amongst them the youngest MS Office Specialist (MOS) “The Wonder Boy” Vivaan Lal of class III-D who has recently achieved place in the INDIA BOOK OF RECORDS as a MICROSOFT WORD SAVY CHILD up on the stage.

The audience also witnessed a scintillating award winning classical dance performance by Vivian Rajahamsan and a Kathak fusion dance by our young and talented girls which was “simply magnificent”.

This was followed by the School song. The prestigious Investiture Ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by the Academic Coordinator Ms. Roopa Arora and the National Anthem.
