Grandparents Day

Grandparents Day 2020

BE THE CHANGE
Tomorrow is in our hands today…..

‘’Nobody can do for little children what Grandparents do.
Grandparents sort of sprinkle star dust over the lives of little children’’

Grandparents are the family’s greatest treasure, the founders of a loving legacy, the greatest storytellers and the keepers of tradition. Grandparents Day has been a tradition with us and we reserve this special day for the grandparents where little ones get an opportunity to strengthen their bond and express their love for them.

DPS Mathura Road celebrated ‘Grandparents Day’ on Wednesday 19th February 2020 with an abundance of love, respect and admiration.

The program was honoured by the presence of the Chief Guest Mr. Vikramjit Banerjee Honorable Additional Solicitor General of India, Supreme Court of India who was felicitated by the Principal Ms. Deeksha Khera. The program commenced with the lighting of the lamp.

Ms. Khera welcomed the Chief Guest and gave an insight of the journey and growth of DPS Mathura Road over the last seventy years as a torchbearer in the field of education and learning.

The inspiring address by the Headmistress Ms. Ranjana Dean highlighted that ‘Be the change’ is all about taking individual responsibility of our actions, as each action of ours is going to have a far reaching consequence and is already impacting future generations. Each of us needs to be a part of the solution and not the problem. These young warriors deserve to inherit a clean and green environment.

The young environmentalists staged a thought-provoking presentation ‘Be the change’. The power packed presentation showed that the little ones don’t need to wait till they are older to make a difference. A medley of performances provided an opportunity to all young artists to showcase their talent and learn invaluable lessons. The dazzling display of dances by the students with perfect steps to the tune and rhythm of peppy songs kept the audience glued to the stage.

The chief guest lauded the talent and relentless hardwork by the students and their mentors. He stressed that it is in our hands to bring the change and that the solution to the gigantic problem called ‘Pollution’ lies in our thought process and habits. He stressed that by limiting our desires we can harvest happiness in our lives. The presentation was followed by a Graduation Ceremony for the Pre Primary children who are now ready to move into a bigger, wider world as they graduate to class I. It was a proud yet emotional moment for everyone. The event was successfully executed under the proficient guidance of the Principal Ms. Deeksha Khera. Ms Renu Puri, Senior Mistress had a special word of thanks for all the honored guests for their presence. A musical carnival and food stalls followed the programme on stage.
