Interschool Rubic Cube Competition

On Saturday, the 27th of April , students from DPS, Mathura Road participated in a Rubic Cube Competition held at Gyananda School, Haryana. A team of five students took part in the competition where they secured Ist position. The team comprised of the following students -Vihaan Gupta-VC, Samriddh Kumar Gupta-V H. Simrah Hashmi-V G , Soham V C and Shivik IV H. The students made the school proud by winning a gold medal.

Welcome Assembly (3 April 2024)

To mark the commencement of the new academic year, 2024-25, a welcome assembly was held on April 3rd, 2024. The Headmistress, Ms. Manisha Varma, in her address, emphasised the paramount importance of discipline, will power and regularity in the journey of education. The acme of the assembly was the announcement of the primary school’s prefectorial body by the Headmistress. The declaration of the prefectorial body motivated the other students to foster leadership skills, cultivate a sense of selfless service and collective responsibility towards community. The assembly concluded with a devotional dance performance followed by the National Anthem.

Delhi Public School, Mathura Road participated in the 20th Junior Flash on 19th January ,2024 at Raghubir Singh Junior Modern School. Students from thirteen prestigious schools of Delhi NCR participated in this inter-school competition. Four events namely- Stage Ninjas, Scratch -a-thon, Slide battle and The Quizzard were held for students from grades 3, 4 and 5.

प्रतिवेदन- द्वितीय शुभ चड्ढा स्मृति हिंदी अंतर्विद्यालयीय वाद–विवाद प्रतियोगिता (2023-24)

दिनांक 29.11.23 को दिल्ली पब्लिक स्कूल, मथुरा रोड के प्राथमिक प्रकोष्ठ द्वारा हिंदी की ‘द्वितीय शुभ चड्ढा स्मृति हिंदी अंतर्विद्यालयीय वाद–विवाद प्रतियोगिता’ का सफल आयोजन किया गया | इस प्रतियोगिता में दिल्ली के बारह नामचीन विद्यालयों ने बड़े ही उत्साह–पूर्वक बढ़–चढ़ कर हिस्सा लिया| प्रतियोगियों का उत्साह अपने-आप में अद्भुत और रोमांचक था| प्रतियोगिता का विषय था- ‘जीवन का आनन्द अपनी आवश्यकताओं को सीमित रखने में है|’ विषय के पक्ष तथा विपक्ष में क्रमशः कक्षा चौथी और पाँचवीं के छात्रों के मौलिक-विचार लोगों के लिए मुख्य आकर्षण का केंद्र बने| श्रीमती शुभ चड्ढा जी की स्मृतियों को याद करते हुए श्री बी. आर चड्ढा तथा उनके पुत्र श्री राहुल चड्ढा जी ने अपनी उपस्थिति से इस अवसर को और यादगार बनाया| इस प्रतियोगिता की अध्यक्षा श्रीमती वीणा त्रिवेदी (विभागाध्यक्षा हिंदी–विभाग, दिल्ली पब्लिक स्कूल, मथुरा रोड) थीं| प्रतियोगिता की निर्णायिका का कार्य-भार हिंदी की बहुचर्चित लेखिकाओं श्रीमती ममता सिंह (लेखिका एवं कई प्रसिद्ध संस्थाओं की अध्यक्षा) एवं हरियाणा गौरव डॉ० सविता चड्ढा जी (प्रसिद्ध लेखिका) ने सम्भाला| मंगल ज्योति- प्रज्ज्वलन के साथ आगत अतिथि विद्यालयों का स्वागत विद्यालय के विद्वान उपप्राचार्य श्री नवीन कुमार जी ने अपने उत्साह-वर्धक व्याख्यान के द्वारा किया|

इस अवसर पर विद्यालय के उपप्राचार्य श्री नवीन कुमार जी की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति आद्यंत बनी रही| सभी प्रतियोगियों के वाचन उपरांत, परिणाम घोषित किए गए| ‘दिल्ली पब्लिक स्कूल, नोएडा सैक्टर-30’ के ‘दिव्यम अग्रवाल’ को आदर्श प्रवक्ता पुरस्कार दिया गया| ‘दिल्ली पब्लिक स्कूल, मथुरा रोड’ को सर्वश्रेष्ठ दल की वैजयंती से सम्मानित किया गया| ‘दिल्ली पब्लिक स्कूल, मथुरा रोड’ की छात्रा ‘पंखुरी गुप्ता’ ने प्रथम स्थान प्राप्त किया| द्वितीय स्थान ‘दी इंडियन स्कूल, दूसरी पाली’ की छात्रा ‘कात्यायनी मिश्र’ ने प्राप्त किया| तृतीय स्थान पर ‘दिल्ली पब्लिक स्कूल, नॉलेज पार्क-V’ की छात्रा ‘गौरिका सिंह’ रही| कार्यक्रम के अंत में प्राथमिक-विभाग की शैक्षिक संपर्क अधिकारिणी (को–ओर्डिनेटर) श्रीमती स्नेहलता कौशिक ने प्रतियोगिता की समापन वेला में सभा में उपस्थित सभी लोगों के प्रति अपना आभार प्रकट किया| इस कार्यक्रम का समापन सामूहिक राष्ट्र-गान के साथ हुआ|

अंतर्वर्गीय हिन्दी वाद- विवाद प्रतियोगिता (2023-24)

दिनांक 16-10-2023 को दिल्ली पब्लिक स्कूल, मथुरा रोड के प्राथमिक- विभाग में ‘जीवन का आनंद अपनी आवश्यकताओं को सीमित रखने में है|’ विषय पर कक्षा चार एवं पाँच के छात्रों के बीच एक अंतर्वर्गीय हिंदी वाद-विवाद प्रतियोगिता आयोजित की गई| इस प्रतियोगिता में छात्रों का उत्साह अपने आप में अद्भुत और रोमांचक था| कार्यक्रम का शुभारम्भ विद्यालय के उपप्राचार्य श्री नवीन कुमार के संबोधन से हुआ| इस अवसर पर मुख्याध्यापिका 'श्रीमती मनीषा वर्मा' ने अपने उद्बोधन-व्याख्यान से बच्चों को प्रेरित किया| प्रतियोगिता की निर्णायिका-मंडल की सदस्या के रूप में अपने विद्यालय की अध्यापिका-द्वय, हिंदी-संस्कृत–विभागाध्यक्षा श्रीमती वीणा त्रिवेदी और वरिष्ठ हिंदी अध्यापिका श्रीमती अस्मिता पंत की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति आद्यंत बनी रही| प्रतियोगिता सञ्चालन का कार्य विद्यालय की हिंदी-विभाग की वरीय अध्यापिका श्रीमती सीमा गंभीर कर रही थीं| कार्यक्रम के दौरान विषय के पक्ष और विपक्ष में बोलते हुए विद्यार्थियों के अपने-अपने मौलिक-विचार लोगों के लिए मुख्य आकर्षण का केंद्र बने| सभी प्रतियोगियों के वाचन उपरांत परिणाम घोषित किए गए| कक्षा पाँचवीं की आयज़ा फ़ातिमा और कक्षा चौथी की पंखुरी गुप्ता ने प्रथम स्थान जीता| इसके बाद कक्षा पाँचवीं की मीरा धूत और कक्षा चौथी की अमायरा कपूर ने दूसरा स्थान जीता| प्रोत्साहन पुरस्कार कक्षा पाँचवीं के अवयुक्त अग्रवाल और कक्षा चौथी के विराज कटारा और रेयांश शर्मा को दिया गया| इस अवसर पर हिंदी विभाग के अतिरिक्त अन्य विषयों के शिक्षक-शिक्षिकाओं की उत्साहपूर्ण उपस्थिति प्रारम्भ से अंत तक बनी रही| तकनीकी सहयोगियों की कुशल यांत्रिक-व्यवस्थापन-कला ने सम्पूर्ण सदन को और भी सुन्दर बना दिया| परिणाम उद्घोषणा के बाद शैक्षिक संपर्क-अधिकारिणी श्रीमती स्नेहलता कौशिक ने सबका धन्यवाद-ज्ञापन किया और राष्ट्रगान के साथ प्रतियोगिता का समापन हुआ|

A Report On Iv Prabhjot Baruah Memorial Inter -School English Debate 2023-24

"Debate is the best way to test the strength of your ideas." - Sharad Vivek Sagar

Delhi Public School, Mathura Road organised the IV Prabhjot Baruah Memorial Inter-School English Debate for the students of Classes IV and V on 24 August 2023. The motion before the house was, ‘Social Media has Improved Human Communication’ to which the young debaters could relate personally. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 12 distinguished schools. The event witnessed an ebullient exchange of opinions and views.

The event saw an assemblage of eminent judges such as Mr Amit Arora, Journalist, Newsreader, Anchor, Radio Jockey, Quiz Master and an illustrious Commentator; Dr Archna Tyagi Senior Research Fellow with Center for Military History and Conflict and Ms Arunima, Editor at CNN News 18.

The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by a presentation on how technology is rapidly changing our everyday interactions. The school Principal, Ms Reema Sharma, Vice Principal (Academics), Ms Monica Sahni and Vice Principal (Administration), Mr Naveen Kumar felicitated the dignitaries. The Principal, in her address, emphasised that the advent of social media has brought about transformative shifts in various aspects of life. She also pointed out that social media not only reshapes the way people communicate, but also alters their daily routines; it is indeed undeniable that the profound influence of social media affects contemporary generations across different walks of life.

During the debate, participants highlighted the transformative impact of technology on our lives. They stressed that social media platforms have revolutionised how we connect, making communication faster and more convenient than ever before. This viewpoint led to a range of differing opinions, such as concerns about over-reliance on online interactions affecting faceto- face communication skills. These perspectives also addressed the potential drawbacks of excessive screen time and reduced personal interaction due to the prevalence of social media in our lives.

The panel of judges, Ms. Arunima, Mr. Amit Arora, and Dr. Archna Tyagi, expounded their observations to the assembled audience, commending the eloquence and acumen demonstrated by the speakers. They provided guidance on avenues through which the debaters could further improve and grow intellectually. The results were declared shortly after. The first position was bagged by Sara Kanwar from DPS Vasant Kunj. Adwaitaa Singh, also from DPS Vasant Kunj, secured the second position. The third position was bagged by Avika Bansal from The Indian School. Vir Chadha from, DPS Mathura Road, was presented with the Prabhjot Baruah Award for the Best Orator. The rolling trophy was awarded to DPS Vasant Kunj in recognition of their outstanding performance.

The Headmistress, Ms Manisha Varma gave the vote of thanks. She expressed admiration for the extensive research conducted by each speaker and conveyed her gratitude to the judges for dedicating their precious time. The event concluded with the rendition of the national anthem.
