Criteria for Academic Awards for the Year 2024-2025
The eligibility criteria for being declared a SCHOLAR is as follows:
Minimum Attendance 80% for Classes VI-X 75% for Classes XI-XII
Scholastic Areas
Classes VI-VIII 85% and above in all subjects including the 3rd language
Classes IX-X 85% and above in all five academic subjects.
Class XI 80% and above in all five academic subjects
Class XII 8-Years Scholar (from Class IV to Class XI in succession) and securing 90% and above in four main subjects and 85% and above in English in the Board Exams (AISSCE).
Co- Scholastic Areas
Classes VI- XII The student must score a minimum Grade A in each: SEWA project/ Work Experience/ Art Education/ Physical and Health Education/ Life Skills/ Attitudes/ Co- Scholastic Activities.
Note:
  • 2020-2021(except class X and XII) and 2021-2022 (except class X and XII) will be considered as zero years for calculating 6 years, 8 years and 9 years scholar.
  • No proximity criterion will be applicable for the Board Results of Class X (AISSE) and XII (AISSCE). CBSE Board Result will be considered as final and binding.
  • Marks of the 6th subject will not be considered for the eligibility criteria for being declared a Scholar.
  • The school shall be the custodian of the declared awards for a period of one academic year from the date of Annual Award Ceremony (Scholar Badge Ceremony) for the respective class.
The following students will not be eligible for receiving any Academic Award:
  • A student who is guilty of breaching the school rules and indulging in misconduct such as indiscipline, bullying, fighting, cheating, using foul/ abusive language, etc.
  • A student who is found in possession of mobile phone and smart watch in school.
  • A student who has appeared for any Retest/ Re Exam.
Criteria for being considered as a Scholar for New Admissions:
  • Only students of Delhi Public Schools (core/ satellite) are eligible.
  • The student will be eligible for any academic accolade only after completing one academic year at DPS Mathura Road.
  • He/ she must submit the following documents with a covering letter to the Class Rep by July 31, 2024
  • Photocopy of Result of the qualifying class issued by the last school attended; in case of Class X, Mark Sheet issued by CBSE.
  • Copy of all the previous Scholar Certificates received from the school last attended.
  • The academic achievements of the student in his/her past school collected above will be considered to determine the number of scholar years of the students since he/she joined DPS Mathura Road.

(Decision of the School Committee is final and binding.)

Accolades given to students:
Gown Students receiving Scholar Badge for three consecutive years are given a Blue Blazer made to their size by the school./td>
Gold Medal Students receiving Scholar Badge for six consecutive years are given a Gold Medal along with a Blue Blazer made to their size by the school.
Silver Medal Students receiving Scholar Badge for six years with a one year gap are given a Silver Medal along with a Blue Blazer made to their size by the school. The Silver Medalist will not receive a Gold Medal on becoming a scholar for six years.
Gold Medal at 9 Years Students of Class XII who have been scholars for eight years in succession are given a Gold Medal, provided they secure 90% and above in all the academic subjects in the Board Exams (AISSCE).
Note:
  • For calculation of years for the above-mentioned accolades the zero years will not be considered.
  • Gown: Students receiving Scholar Badge for three consecutive years (the pre- pandemic scholar year and the following years with offline examination in school will be considered as scholar years).
  • Gold Medal: Students receiving Scholar Badge for six consecutive years (four consecutive years after considering the fifth and sixth years as zero years).
  • Gold Medal at 9 Years: Students eligible for the accolade would receive at 8 years, as the pandemic year will be considered as Zero Year.

Delhi Public School, Mathura Road not only aims at preparing students academically but also in guiding them towards a rewarding and satisfying career. It is imperative for students to identify their aptitudes, interests, career goals and aspirations to make them take well-informed decisions regarding their higher education. To help students in this task, the school has commissioned a student counsellor, who is a part of the school’s faculty for the purpose of guiding and counselling students for higher studies. Career Counselling Club

The School’s Career Counselling Club - Lakshya organises an Annual Career Symposium and a Career Fair to make students aware about and update them on the changes taking place in the higher education system, new trends etc. The club has organised various events, workshops, seminars, and webinars from time to time to generate awareness amongst students to help them make informed career choices. Many of our school alumni have been placed in top universities in India as well as abroad through these services.

To manage all the senior students who intend to pursue higher education abroad in a systematic manner a WhatsApp Group - “Study Abroad” has been created on which regular updates related to various offline and online events related to career guidance including university virtual tours, career fairs and symposiums are shared with the students.
