DPS Mathura Road Junior School organized a Staff Felicitation Ceremony on the auspicious occasion of Teacher’s Day . The program commenced with the invocation of Goddess Saraswati through a soulful Saraswati Vandana, where the Vice Principal, Ms. Soni Saxena, joined the choir of Primary Wing teachers. This was followed by a thoughtful speech on the significance of Teacher’s Day and a heartwarming medley of songs presented by the teachers of the Pre-Primary Wing.

The Principal, Dr. Ram Singh, in his inspiring address, emphasized the pivotal role of teachers in shaping individuals and, consequently, society at large. The highlight of the ceremony was the felicitation of teachers from various departments, acknowledging their dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds across diverse domains. The felicitation by the Principal, Dr. Ram Singh, reflected his thoughtful vision and keen eye in ensuring that no teacher’s hard work goes unnoticed. His gracious gesture of appreciating and applauding teachers further motivated them to continue striving for excellence and inspired them to carry forward their commitment with renewed zeal.

The event truly celebrated the teaching fraternity, their invaluable contribution, and their role as the guiding force behind the holistic growth of students.

As part of the “दिल्ली को कूड़े से आज़ादी – स्वच्छता अभियान”, Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, Primary Wing conducted a Cleanliness Drive on Tuesday, 5th August for Classes I and II.

As part of the Shramdaan initiative, students enthusiastically cleaned their classrooms, equipped with gloves and dusters brought from home. They dusted furniture, wiped desks, and tidied up their surroundings.

Following the activity, students took a pledge to maintain cleanliness in school and in their surroundings, committing themselves to contribute towards a litter-free and hygienic environment.

To extend the learning beyond school, students were also given a home task to clean their school bag and study table, reinforcing the habit of cleanliness in their daily lives.

The drive not only instilled a sense of responsibility but also promoted teamwork and environmental awareness among young learners. It was a meaningful and inspiring experience for all.

The Ad-Mad Show competition for Class III students was a resounding success, showcasing their creativity and innovative thinking. The event encouraged students to think outside the box and develop unique advertisements for various products. With enthusiasm and confidence, the students presented their ads, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and communication skills.

The competition provided a platform for students to express their ideas, explore their imagination, and develop essential skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, and public speaking. The Ad-Mad Show was an engaging and entertaining experience, highlighting the students' talent and potential.

Overall, the competition was a fantastic way to foster creativity, innovation, and self-expression among Class III students, and it was wonderful to see them have so much fun while learning and growing.

As part of CBSE Circular No. 41, our Primary Wing is actively observing the Sadak Suraksha Abhiyaan—a national initiative to promote road safety awareness among students and parents.

We’re proud to say that DPS Mathura Road doesn't just teach academics—it teaches life skills. Through activities like this, our children learn the importance of responsible behaviour on and off the road.

To observe World Population Day, DPS Mathura Road – Primary Wing organized a series of educational and creative activities , aimed at sensitizing students about the growing global population and its impact on the environment.

The day began with students from Classes I to V watching an awareness video, which explained in simple terms how increasing population affects the planet’s resources—such as food, water, and space—and emphasized the need to adopt sustainable practices.

Classes I & II participated in a fun and meaningful colouring activity. They coloured pictures of the globe and learned how small actions like saving water and protecting trees can help preserve the Earth for future generations. This hands-on activity helped them understand the importance of nurturing the planet through age-appropriate concepts.

Classes III, IV & V engaged in a poster-making activity on the theme “How to Make the Earth a Better Place.” Through vivid artwork and thoughtful messages, students expressed ways to reduce waste, conserve energy, plant trees, and live in harmony with nature. The activity encouraged creative expression while fostering awareness about environmental sustainability.

The celebration of World Population Day successfully instilled in students the importance of making informed and responsible choices for a healthier, greener, and more balanced world.

Every moment of the Sports Summer Camp organized by Physical Education department at DPS Mathura Road, held from 19th May to 6th June 2025, was packed with energy, enthusiasm, and unforgettable experiences!

From exciting activities to remarkable achievements, the camp provided a vibrant platform for students to learn, grow, and enjoy. The closing ceremony for the Junior School (Pre-School to Class V) was held on 5th June and was graced by our esteemed Vice Principal, Mrs. Soni Saxena. She presented participation certificates to all the young campers, appreciating their spirited involvement and dedication.

It was a joyful culmination of weeks filled with learning, fun, and fitness!

To mark World Migratory Bird Day, students of Classes III–V watched an educational video on bird migration, learning about why birds travel long distances and the importance of protecting their habitats. They then traced the migration routes of birds like the Siberian Crane and Amur Falcon on maps of India. Using colours and sketch pens, students illustrated the routes and decorated them with bird drawings. The activity helped develop awareness about migratory birds, enhanced map-reading skills, and encouraged creativity, making it a fun and meaningful learning experience.

On Tuesday(13.5.25), an Inter-House Mental Maths Competition was conducted for the students of class IV. The event aimed to enhance mental calculation skills and promote healthy competition among students. Participants from different houses showcased their arithmetic abilities, solving problems quickly and accurately.The event concluded successfully, fostering a spirit of maths enthusiasm and competitiveness among the students.

The house wise result is as follows:

• First position - Yamuna and Chenab
• Second position - Jhelum
• Third position - Ganga

DPS Mathura Road Conducts Civil Defence Mock Drill in Line with MHA Directive In response to the advisory issued by the Directorate of Education under the directive of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, successfully conducted a comprehensive civil defence mock drill on 7th May 2025.

The initiative was part of a nationwide exercise aimed at enhancing preparedness among students and staff in the face of potential emergencies such as air raids, sabotage threats, and other hostile situations. The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) supervised the exercise, ensuring that safety protocols were implemented effectively.

The drill began with a warning signal, prompting students and teachers to take immediate protective action. Children were instructed to duck under desks or stand against walls, using their bags and arms to shield their heads. Teachers swiftly closed doors and windows, and switched off electrical appliances.

The Principal,Dr.Ram Singh commended the coordination and seriousness with which students and staff participated. “Preparedness is the key to safety. Such drills not only inform but empower,” he remarked.The mock drill reaffirmed the school’s commitment to fostering a culture of safety, awareness, and civic responsibility in alignment with national priorities.

From animated films to inspiring presentations, our students from Classes I–V at DPS Mathura Road Junior School explored the world of autism with open hearts.

Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, conducted the Inter-house Colouring Competition for Class I on April 30, 2025, in their respective classrooms. The event aimed to encourage young learners to express their creativity, improve their focus, and build confidence in presenting their work.

Students from all six houses – Ravi, Chenab, Ganga, Jhelum, Yamuna, and Sutlej – took part with great enthusiasm. They filled their artworks with vibrant colours and imaginative details, reflecting both joy and a deep passion for artistic expression.

The competition was judged based on the criteria such as colouring skill, neatness, and creativity. The event was a delightful celebration of art and inspiration for all who took part. It not only highlighted the creative potential of the students but also encouraged them to express themselves confidently.

Under the esteemed leadership of Principal Dr. Ram Singh, Classes I–V celebrated International Dance Day on 29 April 2025 with great enthusiasm. Students explored various national and international dance forms through educational videos, gaining insights into their cultural significance and the benefits of dance. They participated in an engaging quiz on Indian dance forms and learned the basics of Hip Hop and Jazz during their dance periods, enhancing their coordination, rhythm, and creativity while promoting physical fitness and self-expression. As a result, students gained awareness of Indian and international dance forms and their cultural significance, and developed basic skills in Hip Hop and Jazz, improving coordination, rhythm, and self-expression.

The Inter-House Basketball match for Class IV was held on 24.4.25, Thursday in the Junior school Play Ground. The event aimed to promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition among students. The students of Ganga and Yamuna House participated in the competition, showcasing their skills and strategies on the court. The match was intense and closely contested, with each house demonstrating excellent teamwork and coordination. In the end, Ganga House emerged as the winner. The event was a huge success, promoting physical activity and teamwork among students. Congratulations to the winning house and all participants for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship!

Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, conducted the Interhouse Calligraphy Competition – Penmanship for Class II on April 16, 2025. The event was designed to promote the art of beautiful handwriting and instill in students the values of neatness, patience, and presentation.

The event encouraged students to slow down and appreciate the aesthetics of handwriting, while also developing fine motor skills, concentration, and self-discipline. The competition was a delightful blend of creativity and mindfulness, where the beauty of the written word took center experience for the children.

To commemorate, World Autism Awareness Day on 2 April students from Classes I-V participated in various activities designed to raise awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Classes I-V watched the animated movie "My Brother Charlie" and discussed the importance of recognizing each person's uniqueness. Classes I and II shared 2-3 lines about their personal strengths and interests, while Classes III-V researched and presented on famous individuals with autism, highlighting their contributions to society. These activities fostered a deeper understanding of autism, promoting acceptance and inclusion while encouraging students to appreciate diversity in abilities.

The Pre-Primary Wing celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with great joy and enthusiasm. The little ones came dressed in traditional Maharashtrian attire and looked absolutely adorable, adding festive charm to the day. Children participated in creative hands-on activities, where they made delicious modaks and beautifully crafted Ganpati idols using air-dry clay.

Through these activities, the children not only enjoyed themselves but also learned about the significance of Lord Ganesha as the remover of obstacles and the symbol of wisdom and prosperity. The classrooms echoed with festive cheer and shared their handmade creations with pride.

The children of Pre-School G joyfully celebrated the beautiful bond of Friendship through a vibrant and heart-warming presentation. With cheerful smiles and great enthusiasm, the little ones showcased their love for friends through delightful rhymes and energetic dance performances. Their innocent expressions and lively moves created a joyful atmosphere, leaving everyone with smiles and warm hearts. It was truly a memorable celebration of love and friendship by our tiny stars!

Pre-School D's young students showcased their understanding of peace and harmony through a thought-provoking assembly, featuring speeches, rhymes, and action songs that promoted kindness and respect.

Pre-Primary B parents presented 'The Sweet Trap', a fun and informative session on healthy eating habits. Kids had a blast while learning about the ill effects of excessive sugar intake!

The Pre-Primary Wing of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road welcomed grandparents to share stories with their grandkids on May 14, 2025, fostering intergenerational bonds and sparking imagination. We're grateful for their participation and look forward to more family-bonding.

The Pre-Primary wing's Airport Simulation Activity was a huge success! Students had a blast navigating a simulated airport, learning about baggage handling, boarding passes, passport checks, and more. This hands-on experience taught them essential skills and provided a fun, interactive way to learn.

The Pre-Primary wing successfully conducted a disaster management awareness program for kindergarten children, focusing on safety, emergency preparedness, and reassurance. The initiative included simple explanations, safety drills and storytelling activities.

All teachers, children, and helper staff actively participated in the program, which aimed to make children feel safe and prepared. The event emphasized staying calm, following rules, and trusting adults during emergencies.

The program was well-received, and children demonstrated a better understanding of safety procedures. The collaborative effort ensured a successful outcome, promoting a safe and secure environment for all.

Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, is delighted to share that today classes 1 and 2 students thoroughly enjoyed the new swings today, experiencing the perfect blend of fun and learning. This new addition to our primary wing promotes physical activity, balance, and coordination while fostering socialization and creativity. Play is vital for childhood development, helping students develop essential gross motor skills, balance, and social skills.

Parents and children of Pre-School F presented a skit, "The Picnic Party," promoting healthy eating habits. The story featured animal friends choosing nutritious snacks, teaching the Lion about the benefits of wholesome food.

The engaging performance captivated the young audience and conveyed valuable lessons on making healthy food choices.

On April 29, 2025, our Pre-Primary Wing conducted a crucial earthquake drill, emphasizing student safety. Upon hearing the hooter, children promptly hid under tables, following teachers' guidance. A comprehensive explanation and PPT presentation reinforced their understanding of emergency protocols.

This initiative promotes preparedness, empowering young learners to respond effectively in unforeseen situations.

Poshan Pakhwada 2025 saw our Pre-School teachers engaging young learners in interactive activities promoting healthy eating habits, proper food storage, and mindful consumption. Through discussions, demonstrations, and food sorting exercises, children developed awareness of nutritious food choices and safe storage practices. This hands-on approach laid the foundation for lifelong healthy habits, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm among our young students.

Delhi Public School Mathura Road's Pre-Primary Wing celebrated Earth Day on April 22, 2025, with the theme "Earth Day, Everyday." Students engaged in various activities, including plant watering, Earth protection discussions, and craft projects. Pre-Schoolers created Mother Earth using air-dry clay, while Pre-Primary students learned about the 3Rs, eco-friendly practices, and alternatives to plastic. These activities fostered eco-awareness and responsibility, empowering young learners to become eco-conscious citizens.

The classic fable "The Ant and the Grasshopper" was narrated to the pre-school children, teaching them the value of hard work and preparation. Through expressive voice modulation and simple props, the story came alive, captivating the children's attention. The students were engaged, eagerly responding to questions and predicting story outcomes. They empathized with the grasshopper's situation and understood the ant's foresight. The session concluded with a discussion on the moral, reinforcing the lesson that hard work today prepares us for tomorrow.

Pre-Primary children had an absolute blast on their first day of school. The excitement and joy were palpable as they explored the classrooms, made new friends, and engaged in a fun-filled pouch painting activity. The little ones' faces lit up with creativity and imagination as they dipped their brushes in vibrant colours and brought their artistic visions to life. It was a wonderful way to kick- start the new academic year, fostering a sense of curiosity, creativity, and belonging among our young learners. We're thrilled to welcome our Pre-Primary students to the DPS family and look forward to a year filled with laughter, learning, and growth.
