Teacher’s Day 2025 at DPS Mathura Road

DPS Mathura Road celebrated Teacher’s Day with warmth and gratitude, beginning with a heartfelt tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, led by the Principal, Dr. Ram Singh, Vice Principals, Headmistress, and Senior Mistress.

Teachers were honoured across multiple categories — from academic excellence in board results and innovation in teaching, to commitment and consistency.

Ms. Asmita Pant received the Excellence in Teaching Award with a cash prize of ₹25,000. The school also celebrated the contributions of admin staff and Group D employees — recognizing that every role plays a part in shaping the future.

In his inspiring address, Principal Dr. Ram Singh praised the dedication of all teachers, saying, “If I could, I would award each one of you.” He reminded everyone of the transformative power of educators in shaping young minds.

The celebrations concluded with the National Anthem, followed by a joyful lunch where teachers came together in appreciation and camaraderie.

ATAL Mega Tinkering Day

ATAL Mega Tinkering Day was celebrated on 12th of August 2025 in over 10,000 schools across India, with Delhi Public School, Mathura Road proudly joining the initiative under the visionary leadership of Principal Dr. Ram Singh.

Students demonstrated remarkable ingenuity by designing fully functional vacuum cleaners using discarded materials such as plastic bottles, old motors, and basic wiring.

This hands-on activity not only nurtured creativity and innovation but also instilled values of sustainability and problem solving. By transforming everyday waste into practical cleaning devices, students explored core concepts of electronics and engineering while contributing to a cleaner environment.

Inter School Seniors English Debate

“True dialogue begins when language becomes a bridge, not a barrier.”

DPS Mathura Road hosted the 5th Susan Margaret Joseph Memorial Inter School Seniors English Debate on 23rd August 2025, in honour of alumna Susan Margaret Joseph, with the association of her uncle, Mr. Sydney R. Reberio, Dean/Professor (University of Delhi), Retd.

Principal Dr. Ram Singh, whose vision drives the school’s culture of dialogue and critical thinking, graced the occasion.

The motion “Linguistic Fragmentation is Dividing and not Diversifying” saw spirited exchanges before an eminent panel of judges.

Mock Bomb Hoax Drill at Delhi Public School, Mathura Road

A mock bomb hoax drill was conducted in Delhi Public School, Mathura Road on 22nd August, 2025 to ensure preparedness and awareness among students and staff in case of any emergency. The drill was carried out under the guidance of the school authorities in collaboration with the disaster management team.

At the sound of the emergency siren, students were swiftly evacuated from their classrooms and escorted to the designated safe assembly area. Teachers ensured discipline and calm during the process.

The drill familiarized everyone with the standard operating procedures to be followed during such a situation.

WarP Intra’ 25: Cyber Division

WarP Intra ’25: Cyber Division, the annual intra-school tech symposium of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, was held on 2nd August 2025, celebrating digital innovation and creativity across Classes VI to XII. The event was inaugurated by Shri Notan Roy, Scientist E and Director, Cyber Laws Division, MeitY, Government of India, whose insightful address set the tone for the day. Principal, Dr. Ram Singh emphasized the growing importance of technology and cyber safety in today’s world and encouraged students to actively participate in such events to enhance their digital awareness and skills.

Organised by WarP – The Computer Club in collaboration with CYBR – The Cyber Safety Club, the symposium featured events like hackathon, game development, programming, design, quiz, cybersecurity challenges, and more. With 250+ participants in the prelims and 200+ in the finals, the event witnessed enthusiastic engagement across all categories. Alumni Aashray Jain, Ahan Jain, Hamza Shabbir, Snigdha Singh, Vihaan Pant, and Somay Gupta returned as judges and alumni, adding both mentorship and nostalgia to the occasion.

DPSMR Organised a Career Counselling Session for Class XII

Career Counselling Club at DPS Mathura Road Organised a Career Counselling Session for class XII Commerce and Humanities students on 5th August 2025. The session was delivered by Mr. Ankit Kapoor Director of Pratham, one of the leading test preparation Institutes.

Visited to National Crafts Museum

A group of students from DPS Mathura Road, classes 8-12, visited the National Crafts Museum, New Delhi on August 4, 2025 along with the art teachers from senior school. On the eve of celebrating the National Handloom Day, a Government of India initiative, our school was invited for an educational trip. It was a really engaging trip, the students got the chance to get accustomed with the various traditional handicrafts especially textiles from different states of India. There was a good hands on experience for the students in the clay modelling class along with life skills session with one of the senior researchers there. It was over all an amazing trip which was indeed required for our students to see and learn about the vast and diversified handloom sector of India and how each state is contributing with their own different set of skills.

Hariyali Teej Celebration

Delhi Public School Mathura Road celebrated Hariyali Teej on July 27, 2025, with a tree plantation drive under the theme "Green Today, Better Tomorrow." Students participated with great enthusiasm, planting a diverse range of shrubs, trees, and bamboo across the campus.

The initiative aimed to emphasize the vital role of greenery in maintaining ecological balance and combating climate change. Through active participation, students cultivated a stronger sense of environmental responsibility and a commitment to sustainable living.

DPS Hosts Pickleball Session with AIPA’s Sunil Valavalkar

DPS Mathura Road had organised a demonstration of pickleball on newly constructed court by Sunil Valavalkar, Hon Sr Vice President & Founder Director AIPA of India.

Around 100 students took part in it with full enthusiasm and sportsman spirit.

Earthquake Drill: "Drop, Cover, and Hold On”

Learning life skills for natural calamities is essential for young students. It helps them stay safe, calm, and prepared during emergencies like earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, or fires. Teaching students how to respond quickly and effectively can save lives and reduce panic.

An earthquake drill was conducted by DPS, Mathura Road, on 24th July 2025 for senior wing to prepare students and staff for emergency situations.

The drill included the "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" exercise under the supervision of teachers. A PowerPoint presentation assisted them in learning the importance of being alert and prepared during such situations.

The drill's success was a reflection of enthusiastic participation and commitment towards students' safety and well-being.

Annual Career Fair - "Aspire 2025" University Fair “The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.”

On Saturday, 19th July 2025, Delhi Public School, Mathura Road organized its prestigious Annual University Fair — ASPIRE 2025, which aimed to guide students towards higher education opportunities across the globe. The fair provided a valuable platform for students to explore both undergraduate and postgraduate options in a wide range of fields. Experiential Learning in the Hills: Kasauli and Shimla Excursion

An educational excursion to Kasauli and Shimla was organized for students of Classes VI to XII providing a valuable opportunity for experiential learning, exploration, and the development of essential life skills.

The journey began on 15th June with 55 students (both boys and girls) from Classes VI to VIII and concluded joyfully on 18th June. An orientation session was conducted at the outset, followed by engaging team-building games and activities that fostered collaboration and enhanced coordination among the students.

During the excursion, students visited several prominent locations such as Monkey Point and Sunset Point, where they enjoyed breathtaking views while gaining insights into socio-emotional development. They also explored the iconic Christ Church of Kasauli, where they learned about its unique architecture, religious significance, and customs. A visit to Mall Road gave them a chance to experience the local culture and market.

The students actively interacted with experts, participated in hands-on activities, and engaged in meaningful discussions. To reflect on their experiences, they documented their journey through media projects including blog writing and podcast recordings. As a token of appreciation, each student received a certificate and a badge from the tour leaders.

This trip not only enriched their academic knowledge but also nurtured critical skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. It was heartening to witness the students grow and adapt in new settings.

Har Gully Hero Cricket Tournament

Our school proudly organized the New Har Gully Cricket Tournament in collaboration with Red FM and Hero Cycles on 17th and 18th May 2025 (Saturday and Sunday). Our respected principal Dr. Ram Singh sir, inaugurated the event by cutting the ribbon and tossing for the first match. The event took place on the school ground and was a grand celebration of sportsmanship, teamwork, and youthful enthusiasm.

A total of 32 teams of DPS Mathura Road, comprising of 226 students from all six houses, covering Classes VI to IX and the age group of 10 to 14 years, actively participated in the tournament.

Each participant was provided with custom tournament t-shirts, refreshments, and participation certificates, ensuring that everyone felt valued and appreciated for their involvement.

Chitrankan 2025

The Art Club of DPS Mathura Road conducted its annual event "Chitrankan 2025" on Saturday 17 May, 2025. There was a participation of more than 250 students offline and a hundred more online.

Principal Dr Ram Singh addressed the gathering with an insightful speech to motivate the students. The invited alumni of our school who were also the past organisers of Chitrankan made the event more special and cheered the crowd. There were events like on-the-spot for the students of classes 6-8, mehendi and face painting for classes 9-12. The entire event came to an end successfully with all counting days until it arrives next year with more possibilities and newer ideas.

Students Learn Democracy Firsthand in DPS Mathura Road Elections

Delhi Public School, Mathura Road organized elections for Head Boy and Head Girl and Vice Head Boy, Vice Head Girl providing students with hands-on experience of the democratic process in a Special Assembly. The Art Department of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, shall conduct its annual art festival ‘Chitrankan’ on 17 May 2025 for the students to showcase their artistic skills and creativity. In collaboration with Ministry of Culture’s ‘ Reading India - 2025 ‘ event , a Book Fair was organised at DPS MATHURA ROAD on 3 and 4 May 2025 The fair was inaugurated by Principal Dr Ram Singh and aimed to promote reading habits among students and encourage a love for literature. The event was held in the amphitheatre during the PTM and lasted for two days attracting a large number of students and parents. A wide range of books were on display. Students were excited to explore new books and many purchased titles of their interest.

Earth Day Celebration

Delhi Public School Mathura Road celebrated Earth Day on April 22, 2025, with the theme "Earth Day, Everyday." Students engaged in various activities, including plantation, plant watering, Earth protection discussions, and craft projects. Pre-Schoolers created Mother Earth using air-dry clay, while Pre-Primary students learned about the 3Rs, eco-friendly practices, and alternatives to plastic. Senior School did a plantation drive. These activities fostered eco-awareness and responsibility, empowering young learners to become eco-conscious citizens.

Japanese Language School Teachers’ Association

On April 11, 2025 — Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, in association with JALSTA (Japanese Language School Teachers’ Association), successfully hosted Mini Camp Japan — a unique celebration of Japanese language and culture. The event welcomed 170 Japanese language learners from 13 schools across Delhi and the NCR, offering an enriching platform for cultural exchange and learning.

On Thursday, 10th April 2025, despite it being a school holiday on Mahavir Jayanti, the Physical Education faculty of DPS Mathura Road organized sports trials from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM.

The trials were conducted for students of Classes VI to VIII across multiple sports disciplines including Skating, Table Tennis, Chess, Cricket, Basketball, Football, Swimming, and Yoga.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 350 students.

The atmosphere was vibrant and energetic, with students eager to showcase their skills and be part of their favorite sporting activities.It was truly inspiring to see such high levels of dedication, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship among our young athletes.

Teacher's Day Junior School

DPS Mathura Road Junior School organized a Staff Felicitation Ceremony on the auspicious occasion of Teacher’s Day . The program commenced with the invocation of Goddess Saraswati through a soulful Saraswati Vandana, where the Vice Principal, Ms. Soni Saxena, joined the choir of Primary Wing teachers. This was followed by a thoughtful speech on the significance of Teacher’s Day and a heartwarming medley of songs presented by the teachers of the Pre-Primary Wing.

The Principal, Dr. Ram Singh, in his inspiring address, emphasized the pivotal role of teachers in shaping individuals and, consequently, society at large. The highlight of the ceremony was the felicitation of teachers from various departments, acknowledging their dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to nurturing young minds across diverse domains. VI Prabhjot Baruah Memorial Inter-School English Debate 2025-26

The Sixth Prabhjot Baruah Memorial Inter-School English Debate for Classes IV and V on 19 August 2025 at Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, was a resounding success, celebrating the power of words and the spirit of healthy discourse. Thirteen leading Delhi schools participated in the event.

The debate concluded with the prize distribution by the Principal, Dr. Ram Singh. He also encouraged the students to actively take part in such events. The judges praised all participants for their confidence and clarity.

Cleanliness Drive On 5th August

As part of the “दिल्ली को कूड़े से आज़ादी – स्वच्छता अभियान”, Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, Primary Wing conducted a Cleanliness Drive on Tuesday, 5th August for Classes I and II.

As part of the Shramdaan initiative, students enthusiastically cleaned their classrooms, equipped with gloves and dusters brought from home. They dusted furniture, wiped desks, and tidied up their surroundings.

Following the activity, students took a pledge to maintain cleanliness in school and in their surroundings, committing themselves to contribute towards a litter-free and hygienic environment.

To extend the learning beyond school, students were also given a home task to clean their school bag and study table, reinforcing the habit of cleanliness in their daily lives.

The drive not only instilled a sense of responsibility but also promoted teamwork and environmental awareness among young learners. It was a meaningful and inspiring experience for all.

Har Ghar Tiranga

HAR GHAR TIRANGA 2025 As part of CBSE’s “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, DPS Mathura Road organized a series of patriotic activities from 2nd to 14th August 2025.

In Phase I, students decorated notice boards and corridors with Tiranga-themed art, participated in rangoli competitions and took part in online quizzes.

In Phase II, a Tiranga rally was held in the school, where students proudly carried the national flag.

Phase III concluded with the Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony, along with students and staff uploading selfies with the Tiranga on the official portal.

These activities helped instil a deep sense of pride and respect for the national flag among students, while also promoting creativity and civic responsibility. A total of 3327 / 4326 students enthusiastically participated in the campaign, making it a memorable celebration of unity and patriotism.

Ad-Mad Show competition for Class III

The Ad-Mad Show competition for Class III students was a resounding success, showcasing their creativity and innovative thinking. The event encouraged students to think outside the box and develop unique advertisements for various products. With enthusiasm and confidence, the students presented their ads, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and communication skills.

The competition provided a platform for students to express their ideas, explore their imagination, and develop essential skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, and public speaking. The Ad-Mad Show was an engaging and entertaining experience, highlighting the students' talent and potential.

Overall, the competition was a fantastic way to foster creativity, innovation, and self-expression among Class III students, and it was wonderful to see them have so much fun while learning and growing.

Inter-House Hindi Debate Competition

Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, organized an Inter-House Hindi debate competition for students of Class IV and V on the topic "Robotic Yug Mein Manveey Sanvednaon Ka Mahatva Nahin Hai" (Importance of Human Emotions in the Robotic Age). The competition saw an enthusiastic participation from students, making it a thrilling experience.

During the debate, students presented their unique perspectives on the topic, both in favor and against, which was the main attraction for the audience. After the results were announced, the Principal, Dr. Ram Singh, addressed the gathering and felicitated the winners. He expressed his gratitude to all participants.

Inter-House English Debate Ignites Young Minds at DPS Mathura Road

The Primary Wing of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, successfully hosted the Inter-House English Debate on July 15, 2025. The thought-provoking topic, "Smart gadgets make people dull," sparked a lively discussion, showcasing the exceptional oratory skills and critical thinking of our young debaters. Students from different houses presented well-researched arguments for and against the motion, demonstrating passion and conviction that were truly commendable. The debate not only honed their public speaking skills but also fostered teamwork and critical thinking.

As Cicero once said, "The limits of my language are the limits of my world." Our young debaters have indeed expanded their world through this enriching experience.

Quiz Club Training Session

Under the visionary leadership of our Principal, Dr. Ram Singh, and the motivational guidance of Vice Principal, Ms. Soni Saxena, the Primary Wing's Quiz Club successfully organized a dynamic Quiz Training Session. About 70 enthusiastic students from Classes III-V actively participated in this engaging event.

Led by Mr. Arindam Bhattacharya, the session provided fascinating insights into Indian states and capitals. As a part of the P N Panicker Reading Month initiative, aligning with the CBSE Circular-33, the session aimed to instill a love for reading among students. The introduction to unique sports like Sepak Takraw sparked curiosity and interest, offering a fresh perspective on the world of sports.

World Population Day

To observe World Population Day, DPS Mathura Road – Primary Wing organized a series of educational and creative activities , aimed at sensitizing students about the growing global population and its impact on the environment.

The day began with students from Classes I to V watching an awareness video, which explained in simple terms how increasing population affects the planet’s resources—such as food, water, and space—and emphasized the need to adopt sustainable practices.

Classes I & II participated in a fun and meaningful colouring activity. They coloured pictures of the globe and learned how small actions like saving water and protecting trees can help preserve the Earth for future generations. This hands-on activity helped them understand the importance of nurturing the planet through age-appropriate concepts.

Classes III, IV & V engaged in a poster-making activity on the theme “How to Make the Earth a Better Place.” Through vivid artwork and thoughtful messages, students expressed ways to reduce waste, conserve energy, plant trees, and live in harmony with nature. The activity encouraged creative expression while fostering awareness about environmental sustainability.

The celebration of World Population Day successfully instilled in students the importance of making informed and responsible choices for a healthier, greener, and more balanced world.

International Plastic Bag Free Day – 3 July 2025

To celebrate International Plastic Bag Free Day, Classes I–V engaged in hands-on activities promoting sustainability. Classes I–II decorated cloth bags and played an eco-sorting game to learn about eco-friendly choices. Classes III–V created paper bags using old newspapers, glue, scissors, and ribbons, learning to reuse materials and reduce plastic waste. These activities sparked creativity and awareness, helping students understand the environmental impact of plastic and encouraging responsible habits. The event successfully blended fun and learning, inspiring young minds to care for the planet.

Sports Summer Camp- Closing Ceremony

Every moment of the Sports Summer Camp organized by Physical Education department at DPS Mathura Road, held from 19th May to 6th June 2025, was packed with energy, enthusiasm, and unforgettable experiences!

World Environment Day

To celebrate World Environment Day, our little environmentalists from Classes I and II at DPS Mathura Road rolled up their sleeves and planted their very own mini gardens!

With cups, soil, and seeds in hand, the children joyfully learned about how plants grow and why it's important to care for nature. They also enjoyed a heartwarming story of The Giving Tree, leaving them inspired and full of love for the Earth.

Students of Classes III to V unleashed their creativity in an Eco-Hero Poster Making activity, designing their own superheroes to fight pollution and protect the planet. Using colours and recycled materials, they showcased their ideas and wrote short descriptions of their hero’s mission to save Earth.

Celebrating World Migratory Bird Day Creatively

To mark World Migratory Bird Day, students of Classes III–V watched an educational video on bird migration, learning about why birds travel long distances and the importance of protecting their habitats. They then traced the migration routes of birds like the Siberian Crane and Amur Falcon on maps of India. Using colours and sketch pens, students illustrated the routes and decorated them with bird drawings. The activity helped develop awareness about migratory birds, enhanced map-reading skills, and encouraged creativity, making it a fun and meaningful learning experience.

DPS Mathura Road Hosts Energetic Junior Sports Trials with 255 Participants

DPS MATHURA ROAD, Physical Education Faculty is pleased to present successful conduct and outcomes of the Sports

Trial held on 17th May 2025 from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM at the school for Junior classes.

The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation of 255 students from classes I-V, who came forward to compete in a wide array of sports and games. Each trial was overseen by our trained Physical Education instructors, ensuring fair assessment and smooth coordination throughout the event.

From each sport, promising students were shortlisted based on their performance, skill level, teamwork, and potential. These selected students will now undergo further team practice and training sessions in preparation for various competitions scheduled in the upcoming academic session.

This sports trial served as a remarkable platform for students to showcase their athletic abilities and competitive spirit, while also encouraging sportsmanship, discipline, and confidence. It was heartening to see the high level of talent and dedication displayed by the participants.

Inter-House Mental Maths Competition Held on 13.05.25

On Tuesday(13.5.25), an Inter-House Mental Maths Competition was conducted for the students of class IV. The event aimed to enhance mental calculation skills and promote healthy competition among students. Participants from different houses showcased their arithmetic abilities, solving problems quickly and accurately.The event concluded successfully, fostering a spirit of maths enthusiasm and competitiveness among the students.

DPS Mathura Road Conducts Civil Defence Mock Drill Under MHA Guidelines

DPS Mathura Road Conducts Civil Defence Mock Drill in Line with MHA Directive In response to the advisory issued by the Directorate of Education under the directive of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, successfully conducted a comprehensive civil defence mock drill on 7th May 2025.

The initiative was part of a nationwide exercise aimed at enhancing preparedness among students and staff in the face of potential emergencies such as air raids, sabotage threats, and other hostile situations. The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) supervised the exercise, ensuring that safety protocols were implemented effectively.

The drill began with a warning signal, prompting students and teachers to take immediate protective action. Children were instructed to duck under desks or stand against walls, using their bags and arms to shield their heads. Teachers swiftly closed doors and windows, and switched off electrical appliances.

The Principal,Dr.Ram Singh commended the coordination and seriousness with which students and staff participated. “Preparedness is the key to safety. Such drills not only inform but empower,” he remarked.The mock drill reaffirmed the school’s commitment to fostering a culture of safety, awareness, and civic responsibility in alignment with national priorities.

On May 1, 2025, during the 2nd period, the Junior School's basketball court witnessed an exciting Inter-house Basketball match between Satluj and Chenab houses. The students of class IV participated in this match . The match was filled with energetic cheers and impressive displays of skill and teamwork. Both teams showcased their basketball prowess, making it a closely contested game. In the end, Satluj house emerged victorious, demonstrating their strong teamwork and strategy. The Inter-House Spelling Bee Competition for Class IV was held in the school amphitheatre. The event was organized to encourage students to enhance their spelling skills, vocabulary, and confidence.

The competition consisted of multiple rounds, including a warm-up starter round, tricky word round, unfamiliar words and advance words round. The questions became increasingly challenging as the competition progressed, keeping the audience and participants on the edge of their seats. The Inter-House Basketball match for Class IV was held on 24.4.25, Thursday in the Junior school Play Ground. The event aimed to promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition among students. The students of Ganga and Yamuna House participated in the competition, showcasing their skills and strategies on the court. The match was intense and closely contested, with each house demonstrating excellent teamwork and coordination. In the end, Ganga House emerged as the winner. To Instill The Significance Of Voting

To instill the significance of voting and to provide a practical understanding of how leaders are elected in our country, the Primary Wing of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, organized elections for the posts of Head Boy and Head Girl.

Students of Classes IV and V enthusiastically participated in the democratic process by casting their votes for the candidates. World Health Day Celebration – DPS Mathura Road (7th April 2025)

Students of Grades I–V at DPS Mathura Road celebrated World Health Day with a series of fun and educational activities. A short video on healthy living was shown to all students to raise awareness about the importance of good health. Grades I–II participated in "Fruitastic Fun", where they dressed up as their favourite fruits and spoke about their health benefits, enhancing their confidence and communication skills. Grades III–V took part in "Fruit Frenzy", preparing colourful fruit salads and writing about the nutritional value of fruits and vegetables, promoting creativity, hands-on learning, and awareness of balanced diets. The activities successfully encouraged healthy habits while making learning engaging and enjoyable.

World Autism Awareness Day Celebration

1st April - 6th April '25

To commemorate, World Autism Awareness Day on 2 April students from Classes I-V participated in various activities designed to raise awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Classes I-V watched the animated movie "My Brother Charlie" and discussed the importance of recognizing each person's uniqueness. Classes I and II shared 2-3 lines about their personal strengths and interests, while Classes III-V researched and presented on famous individuals with autism, highlighting their contributions to society. These activities fostered a deeper understanding of autism, promoting acceptance and inclusion while encouraging students to appreciate diversity in abilities.

Teachers' Day is a special occasion to honour and appreciate the dedication, hard work, and love that the teachers put into shaping the lives of the children. Little Hands Welcome Bappa with Joy!

The Pre-Primary Wing celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with great joy and enthusiasm. The little ones came dressed in traditional Maharashtrian attire and looked absolutely adorable, adding festive charm to the day. Children participated in creative hands-on activities, where they made delicious modaks and beautifully crafted Ganpati idols using air-dry clay.

Through these activities, the children not only enjoyed themselves but also learned about the significance of Lord Ganesha as the remover of obstacles and the symbol of wisdom and prosperity. The classrooms echoed with festive cheer and shared their handmade creations with pride.

Etiquettes And Good Manners

A fun-filled three-day event was organized for the little ones in the Pre Primary Wing, focussing on the importance of table etiquette and healthy eating.

Highlights of the event:

Day 1- Demonstration on table setting by teachers, helping children understand the basics of proper table arrangements.

Day 2- "Cooking Without Fire" a group activity where the little ones made refreshing lemonade, learning about healthy food choices, sharing, taking turns and patience.

Day 3- The celebration concluded with "Manners Mania", where students participated in engaging activities to practice good manners in a joyful and interactive way.

Talk on Stranger-Danger

Today, our preschoolers participated in an enactment on “Stranger Danger” to help them understand the importance of staying safe. Through simple role-play activities, children learned who a stranger is and how to respond if approached by someone they don’t know.

The children practiced saying “No!”, stepping away, and informing a trusted adult immediately.

The session was interactive and age-appropriate, ensuring that children understood the message in a fun and engaging way. It was a valuable experience that empowered our little ones with confidence and awareness to stay safe.

Students had a blast navigating a simulated airport, learning about baggage handling, boarding passes, passport checks, and more. The Janmashtami celebration in the Pre-Primary Wing was a delightful event. Children participated enthusiastically in a mukut (crown) decoration activity and dressed up as Radha and Krishna. The children enjoyed creating colorful and intricate crowns, which added a festive touch to the celebration. Their costumes and decorations brought the spirit of the festival to life, making it a memorable occasion for everyone.

On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 08:30 am a fire drill activity was organized for our pre-primary wing children as part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the safety and preparedness of our students in emergencies. The activity aimed to educate young children about fire safety, emergency evacuation procedures, and the importance of remaining calm during such incidents.

A Power Point Presentation was created to introduce the concept of fire safety to the children. This included simple explanations of what fire is, how it can occur, and the importance of adhering to safety protocols.

The fire drill commenced at 08:30 am marked by the sound of the fire alarm. Teachers guided students in an orderly manner to the designated assembly area (bus yard) outside the building. Students were encouraged to walk calmly and quickly while ensuring they did not push or panic. Once gathered at the assembly point, a short debriefing was held where the significance of the drill was explained, and students shared their experiences. Questions were encouraged to reinforce their understanding and alleviate any fears about fire emergencies.

The fire drill activity was a successful endeavor in educating our students about fire safety and evacuation procedures. Continuous training and education on safety will ensure that our children are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to respond effectively in case of an emergency.

DPS Mathura Road held the first module of a General Knowledge program on 5 November 2024 for 62 students from classes 4 and 5, aimed at grooming future Quiz Masters. Mr. Arindham Bhattacharya from Cradle Solutions outlined essential knowledge areas and engaged students with interactive questions. He encouraged them to stay curious and build a habit of regular learning, laying a foundation for success in upcoming quiz competitions. This session was the first in a series of more modules which will culminate in an Inter-House GK Quiz.

Earthquake Drill Conducted at DPS Mathura Road to Enhance Emergency Preparedness

On 12.11.24 at 9:05 am ,the Primary School of Delhi Public School Mathura Road conducted an earthquake drill to ensure that students and staff were prepared for an earthquake emergency. The drill lasted 5 min and involved 1275 participants. Upon hearing the siren, students and staff promptly followed the "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" procedure. The drill highlighted strengths in evacuation procedures and communication among staff and students.

Classes-I to V: Teaching Learning Material (TLM) day was celebrated with great zeal utilizing cost effective and user friendly teaching learning aids available in the school. Demonstration and illustrations were used for transacting various concepts in different subjects like English, Hindi, Math and EVS. Use of play-based toy pedagogy was done to make difficult concepts easy for the learner. School building itself was used as learning aid such as shapes of the window panes and doors.Mask making, card making, thumb painting, hand painting are a regular part of the art curriculum making the learning environment rich and conducive for all students and teachers.

As a part of Shiksha Saptah Celebration Day 2 was dedicated to Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Day (FLN) recognizing the importance of FLN in the early years of education. To enhance the ability of children to read with comprehension and to perform basic mathematical operations by the end of grade 2, a print rich game based learning environment has been created in school. Activities such as story-telling, using cards and puppets were done. “Puppetry and Masks” are significant tool for transacting concepts given in “Jadui Pitara ”. As story telling with puppets imbibes elements of all art forms , enabled students to enhance their creative and imaginative abilities.

International Day of Friendship was celebrated in the Junior School at DPS, Mathura Road.

The International Day of Friendship was proclaimed in 2011 by the UN General Assembly with the idea that friendship between people, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities.

Students got an opportunity to reflect on the importance of friendship and its positive impact on their personal growth and emotional well being. Students made a friendship card and wrote a short message for their friend in it. Students made friendship bands using recycled paper and made sentences using any 5 idioms on friendship in their activity notebook.

Students of classes IV and V researched about the various branches/specialisations in the field of medicine and gave a verbal presentation on any one of them in class.

Fire Drill at DPS Mathura Road

The Primary Wing of DPS, Mathura Road conducted a Fire Drill on 31.01.25 to assess the school's preparedness in case of a fire emergency. The drill, supervised by school administrators and teachers, began with a simulated fire alarm, prompting students and staff to evacuate the building. The evacuation process was smooth and orderly, with everyone assembling at the designated assembly point within two minutes.

The drill highlighted the school's strengths and weaknesses in emergency response. Students demonstrated a good understanding of emergency procedures, including exiting the building and not using elevators. Overall, the fire drill was a valuable exercise that will help the school refine its emergency response plan.

Educational Excursion to Amrit Udyaan by DPS Mathura Road Students

On 18 February 2025, students of Class III from DPS Mathura Road visited Amrit Udyaan at Rashtrapati Bhawan for an educational excursion focused on biodiversity, environmental awareness, and public etiquette. The students explored the gardens of Amrit Udyaan, learned about India’s flora and fauna. A special bus route was created for this excursion that gave our students a tour of the significant places in Delhi.

Delhi Public School Mathura Road Shines in Inter DPS Quiz 2024 National Finale

We are thrilled to share that for the first time Delhi Public School Mathura Road has emerged victorious in the Inter DPS Quiz 2024 National Finale which was held on November 27, 2024. The event was graced by our Honourable Chairperson Ms. Vrinda Sarup !

Our senior team secured the 1st Position in the Senior Category becoming the National Champions, while our junior team bagged the 2nd Position in the Junior Category.

The quizzing extravaganza brought together the brightest minds from across the nation, with:

Excursion to Agra and Fatehpur Sikri: A Memorable Learning Experience

The excursion to Agra and Fatehpur Sikri, which took place from December 7 to December 8, 2024, was a memorable and exciting experience for the students of classes 6 to 8. A total of 110 students- 41 girls and 69 boys - along with 8 teachers, embarked on this enriching journey to explore India's historic monuments.

From the very beginning, excitement filled the air as the students set out, eager to discover the rich history and culture of the region. On the first day, the group visited the iconic Taj Mahal, where they were in awe of the intricate hand-carvings on the white marble. They also explored the imposing Agra Fort, marveling at the majestic red sandstone architecture.

The evening was filled with fun as the students enjoyed a lively DJ session, dancing and making the most of their time together.

On the second day, the group visited Fatehpur Sikri, where they learned about the fascinating history of the Mughal emperors and explored the impressive archaeological sites.

The students were accommodated in a comfortable hotel, which provided a variety of multi-cuisine meals, ensuring a pleasant stay.

The trip was both educational and enjoyable, offering the students an opportunity to learn about India's heritage while creating lasting memories.

DPS Mathura Road Hosts 24th Annual Economics Fest - ECONFLUENCE 2024

The Delhi Public School Mathura Road, marked a momentous occasion on Monday 7th October 2024, as the school's Economics and Consumer Club organized its24th Annual Inter-School Economics Fest - ECONFLUENCE 2024.

It featured five distinctive events namely, Battle on Krisis, Economania, Budget Conclave, Cinematic Loons and Chitrakari, each offering a unique platform for participants to engage with economics in innovative and meaningful ways.

DPS Mathura Road Hosts Robotics and Drone Workshop with Vigyantram

DPS Mathura Road organised a two day workshop in association with Vigyantram for 5 in 1 Robotics and Drone Making and Flying on 4th and 5th October, 2024. About 50 students participated with complete zeal.

The selected teams will proceed to participate in the event-Enactus at IIT, Delhi.

Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, held its Investiture Ceremony on October 9, 2024, appointing 135 Class XI and XII students as leaders of 30 clubs. The event featured ceremonial lighting of lamp, music, and dance performances.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Praneet Chandra. Shri Chandra has rendered more than 22 years of service to the CISF and is presently holding the rank of DIG Tech. at CISF Headquarters. He encouraged students to be confident, hardworking and pursue their passions.

The newly elected Prefectorial Body pledged to uphold the school motto 'Service before Self.'

Memorable Excursion to Jim Corbett National Park for Classes IX and XI

Excursion to Jim Corbett National Park from October 10,2024 to October 12,2024.

Over 300 students of Classes IX and XI had an enjoyable and enriching 3-day trip to Jim Corbett National Park, filled with exciting experiences, team-building activities, and lasting memories.

The students and parents extended their heartfelt gratitude to the Honourable Principal for initiating this enriching experience.

This outing aimed to foster teamwork and environmental awareness among participants.

DPS Mathura Road Hosts 'Lakshya' Career Fair with Participation from Over 60 National and International Universities

Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, hosted a grand two-day career fair titled ‘Lakshya’ for its students and parents. The event saw participation from over 60 universities, with 76 representatives in attendance. More than 40 were from international institutions, while over 30 represented esteemed national universities.

The chief guest, Shri. Rahul Sharma, Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India, lauded the rich legacy of Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, which is celebrating 75 glorious years.

Renowned career expert Shri Jitin Chawla, who was the special guest for the occasion, inspired students with his insights on achieving success. Mr Jitin Chawla also interacted with class X students to guide them for selection of subjects and streams.

The DPS Society College Access Program Team actively contributed to organizing this grand career fair.

AN EXCURSION TO JIM CORBETT, UTTRAKHAND

“Wilderness is the necessity of spirit and nature, our real home.” With this maxim as the propelling essence, 299 students and 19 teachers from Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, New Delhi commenced on a journey to Jim Corbett for two nights and three days, on 10 October, 2024. A total of seven buses were deployed for the entire trip. The resorts allocated for the sojourn of the students and teachers were amidst the lush greenery of Jim Corbett, namely, Grand Resort, Green Retreat, and Mallard Resort.

The first day of the expedition marked the group’s visit to the Corbett Museum and Garjia Temple. On the second day, after an evening of respite, the students went for a Jeep Safari and traversed the Jim Corbett National Park early in the morning. It was at this time that the students rejoiced the most in the lap of nature and wildlife, whilst spotting a few animals as well.

They learnt about wild life and the different zones of forest through the forest guide jn the safari.The afternoon was followed by a visit to the Corbett House, whereby the students learnt about the historical background of Jim Corbett. The students had a joyous DJ evening.On 12 October, 2024, after an indelibly unforgettable experience, the group of students and teachers headed back to the school. Through out the excursion, the students enjoyed delicious meals , shared time with their peers , made new bonds and learnt the art of self-management.The journey left a strikingly unforgettable mark on the resplendent young minds, steering them to be equipped with umpteen memories and learnings for life.
