On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 08:30 am a fire drill activity was organized for our pre-primary wing children as part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the safety and preparedness of our students in emergencies. The activity aimed to educate young children about fire safety, emergency evacuation procedures, and the importance of remaining calm during such incidents.
A Power Point Presentation was created to introduce the concept of fire safety to the children. This included simple explanations of what fire is, how it can occur, and the importance of adhering to safety protocols.
The fire drill commenced at 08:30 am marked by the sound of the fire alarm. Teachers guided students in an orderly manner to the designated assembly area (bus yard) outside the building. Students were encouraged to walk calmly and quickly while ensuring they did not push or panic. Once gathered at the assembly point, a short debriefing was held where the significance of the drill was explained, and students shared their experiences. Questions were encouraged to reinforce their understanding and alleviate any fears about fire emergencies.
The fire drill activity was a successful endeavor in educating our students about fire safety and evacuation procedures. Continuous training and education on safety will ensure that our children are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to respond effectively in case of an emergency.
