18 JULY - 19 JULY 2022
Delhi Public School, Mathura Road has always nurtured exemplary communication
and language skills in its students. It strives to provide numerous platforms to
students to learn, hone their skills and prove their mettle across the literary
spectrum. In accordance with the CBSE’s Celebration of National Reading Day, Week
and Month (19 June-18July 2022) The English Publication Department (Senior) of
DPS Mathura Road conducted its Annual Literary Fest: Literati 2022 with an aim to
engage the students of classes VI-XII in a fulfilling literary sojourn. The fest was
divided into seven insightful events, namely – Parchment and Ink, Poet’s Shack,
Tweet a Tale, Wandering Lens, Shakespeare Live, Poetry Enactment and Judge me by
my Cover. The fest was a blend of the students’ creative zest and artistic fervour.
These events were organised in hybrid mode, enabling a wider range of students to
come forward and demonstrate their artistic and literary skills. From living it up to
the legacy of Shakespeare in ‘Shakespeare Live’ to writing a minuscule yet soulful
tale in ‘Tweet a Tale’; to ingenious poem composition in ‘Poet’s Shack’ and
enthralling narratives in ‘Parchment and Ink’; to the aesthetic and creative entries
received in ‘Wandering Lens’; to witnessing the budding actors and poets dramatise
an English poem on a social theme in ‘Poetry Enactment’; to synthesising a literary
work into a visual format in ‘Judge me by my Cover’-the imaginative expression of
the students was laudable. All in all, these activities and events enabled the learners
to understand the joys of reading and know its importance in creating well balanced,
creative geniuses with the ability to use their divergent thinking skills to continually
produce innovative and novel ideas.
